Matthew frowned. He'd killed all the attackers today, but why did it feel like the other party had emerged as the winning side?
He thought of his parents and daughter, who would have to face dangers comparable to what they'd gone through today, and concluded that the other party had him by his Achilles' heel.
Delisnora Bay, huh? Had they set up a trap there? Did they think he'd go just because of this message? How moronic!
Matthew stuffed his phone into his pocket and headed into the yard, only to be greeted by the sight of Caleb eating some watermelon.
Beside him, Lorraine fumed. "It's fine if you ate the watermelon, Mr. Murphy, but you gotta promise me something—stop gambling!"
Caleb said with a smile, "I'll listen to you and stop gambling in the future."
Lorraine said, "You know where you did wrong and are willing to change, so you're a good man. I won't shoo you out of here again."
Matthew smiled as he watched Lorraine and Caleb chat with each other.
…
Delisnora Bay was by the river, so everyone there could hear the sounds of its waters flowing. Under the sunset, a gust of wind blew, rustling the leaves.
Several tourists were taking pictures by the bay when three cars suddenly stopped close by. A few men alighted from the cars and made their way over to the car at the head of their procession.
Dylan opened the door and said respectfully, "We're here, Mr. Connolly."
Lorenzo looked at the tourists and said impatiently, "Shoo them out of here."
Dylan nodded. He and a few men walked toward the tourists and started driving them away. A tourist questioned them indignantly, "What right do you have to do this? You don't own this bay, do you?"
Dylan smiled. "I'm sorry. This place is occupied today, so come again another day."
