I turned my head to my left, surprised that I had not noticed the other two doors in the room. Why were there two?
I stood up and made my way to the one on the left which stood right beside the main door. Opening it wide, I smiled as I realized that it was a walk-in closet, a decent sized one at that.
I backed away from the closet, leaving it slightly ajar since I knew that I will have to settle my clothing eventually. It was Sunday afternoon and tomorrow was my first day at my new school. Great!
I walked over to the other door, wondering if I actually was the proud owner of two closets rather than one; but to my surprise, I was greeted by an en suite bathroom. I couldn't contain my happiness as I jumped up and down and softly clapped my hands together. I may look like an idiot to someone if they were to walk into my room at this very moment, but I didn't care. I always had to share a bathroom with my dad, and to say that it was awkward and disgusting was an understatement. Let's just say that a person who is a neat freak sharing a bathroom with someone who doesn't necessarily care much for keeping things in order, was not something that correlated with one another that well.
I stepped inside and took in the area. To my left was a large counter that stretched onto the other side of the wall. Right in the middle was a small, round sink, which I hardly paid attention to after seeing the large amount of counter space I will have while living here. I turned to my right, seeing a large shower that took both ends of the wall with a small window that could easily hold my necessities. In the middle of the sink and shower was a decent sized toilet. Typical bathroom if you asked me; but having it in my room made it that much better!
I exited the bathroom with a smile on my face as I took in my new room. It was perfect, simply perfect.
As I looked down at my bags that were now on the floor, excluding my backpack which was on my bed, I let out a loud groan. Coming here was the easy part. Unpacking and making everything just the way I liked was a completely different story.
I made my way downstairs after a long afternoon of setting up my belongings. It was actually an easy task and I was surprised at how quickly I had done it all. The only reason I took long was due to the fact that I had decided to take a nice long shower to ease some of the stress that slowly began to form.
I nodded, placing the plate on my lap as the sweet smell of my dinner no longer appealed to me. Seeing as his eyes seemed to be glued onto the TV, he never even seemed to notice the frown that now laced my features. Just the thought of entering a new school surrounded by new students with classrooms that held new teachers made my stomach churn.
I stood up slowly, my stomach suddenly filled with butterflies for an unknown reason. I have been to many new schools before, what made this one any different? Yeah, I hated the fact that I had to start new, again, but I was able to cope with my new surroundings. Why the sudden nervousness?
I shook my head at the thought as I made my way to the kitchen. I placed the left over pizza inside the box before settling the plate inside the dish washer. I would probably have to do them in the morning since I knew that my dad never even bothered, no matter the quantity of dishes it contained.
