The whole crowd started cheering. The noise almost blew the roof off.

Even Ruby was screaming.

I didn't know whether to take it or not.

"Jordan, you've met my fiancé," I said.

Even though it was fake.

"I don't believe your taste could've gotten so bad," he said.

"Just think of it as bad taste," I said.

"Fine, even if he is real."

Jordan leaned in slightly, close to my ear.

"Then leave him and come back to me," he whispered.

His deep voice was like a spell, full of temptation.

No matter how noisy it was outside, the staircase was always the quietest place.
