He glared at me with a sinister expression. "You're lucky. You didn't die," he said.
I clenched my fists, but I couldn't hit him.
If I hit him, I'd definitely be detained. Then no one would be there to protect my wife and daughter.
He was counting on my hesitation. That's why he dared to provoke me so openly.
"You think you can do whatever you want just because you have a mental disability certificate?" I asked.
He laughed loudly and patted my shoulder. "What else? You saw it yourself. The police can't do anything to me," he said.
He clearly wasn't mentally disabled. So how did he get that certificate?
It had become his get-out-of-jail-free card.
"Eric, it's because of you that everyone in the neighborhood wants to beat me up," he said.
He raised his arm, showing me a bruise. "A little girl's parent came from out of town today just to beat me up," he said.
"Serves you right. Do you think you didn't deserve it after what you've done?" I asked.
He snorted coldly. "Doesn't matter. I'm here today to make you give Jane to me," he said.
I looked at him like he was an idiot. "Do you really think that's possible?" I asked.
He shrugged, his fat jiggling. "Doesn't matter. I'll just kill you and then kill your wife…" he said.
He cast a lecherous glance at my daughter's room. "Then I'll do whatever I want with your daughter until I play her to death," he said.
"Let me think about it. After all, she's my daughter. I need time to consider," I said.
He nodded. "Of course. Take your time," he said.
After that, he left.
I returned to the hospital room. My wife said she had mentioned the new address to Ashley during a previous conversation.
She had originally planned to invite Ashley over once we moved into our new home.
Thinking about what Victor said today, I called him that night.
"I'll give you my daughter, but you have to pay me 500,000," I said.
