“Anne.”

Anne heard her grandmother’s voice and turned around. When she saw Tatiana, she stood up and walked over. “Grandma.”

Tatiana came up and knelt down to give Anne a hug.

Yvonne joined them, standing beside Tatiana and looking Anne over. “So this is Max’s daughter. She’s beautiful.”

Anne tilted her chin, sizing up the stranger. When her eyes landed on Andrea, she didn’t greet her like she used to. Ever since she learned Andrea had bullied Evelynn, Anne just couldn’t stand her anymore.

Andrea used to force herself to be nice to Anne. But now that she knew Evelynn was actually Felicia, she didn’t even bother pretending. Just like her mom, she thought, completely insufferable.

Tatiana smiled. “She is, isn’t she? Anne, say hello to Grandma Yvonne.”

Anne obediently said, “Hello, Grandma Yvonne.”

Yvonne smiled back, her eyes gentle. “That necklace is lovely, Anne. It really suits you.”

Tatiana glanced at the necklace around Anne’s neck.

Yvonne turned to the sales assistant. “Could you bring out a few more jewelry sets for kids?” She looked at Anne and added, “Let’s call it a little welcome gift from me.”

Anne said, “Thank you.”

Tatiana was about to take Anne to the VIP lounge to let her pick something out.

Anne ran over to Felicia. “I’ll be right back.”

Felicia nodded. “Go on.”

Felicia gave a little laugh. “Still, Andrea doesn’t quite measure up to her mother.”

Savannah caught Felicia’s meaning, a smirk tugging at her lips. “Totally. If Andrea had any of her mother’s tricks, she’d be married to Max by now. Too bad she’s all looks and no brains.”

Max might spoil Andrea, but it was obvious he was the one calling the shots. Felicia found herself half-hoping Andrea would suddenly get smart and convince Max to finally divorce her. But expecting that from Andrea was just wishful thinking.

They all sat down on the sofa outside to wait.

Heather picked out a jewelry set for Yara, along with some cute hair clips. Felicia and Savannah each chose a bracelet for themselves. Of course, Heather insisted on paying. They didn’t argue. She was the kind of wealthy woman who never knew what to do with all her money anyway.

After about fifteen minutes, Savannah started to fidget. “What’s taking Anne so long? You don’t think they’re keeping her in there, do you?”

Felicia glanced toward the VIP lounge. She knew Tatiana didn’t want Anne spending more time with her, but Anne was completely attached now. There was no way she’d want to be anywhere else.
