Luke dropped Felicia off at the Ross family house.

“I’m coming with you to New York on the sixteenth,” he said.

Felicia glanced over at him, a little surprised.

He gave a small shrug. “One of the games I worked on blew up in North America. There’s a gaming event out there, maybe I’ll even come back with another award.”

Felicia grinned. “Then I should congratulate you in advance.”

Luke flashed her a smile. “Let me take you out to dinner when we get there.”

“You’re on,” she replied, her mood lifting.

Most of Felicia’s work at Roen Capital that needed her in person was finally wrapped up. The two big projects she secured would be handled by Savannah from here on out.

She had one last thing today, a talk show she’d agreed to host a while ago. There was no backing out. And this time, her guest was none other than Darin Foxhall.

At work, Felicia treated Darin just like any other guest—polite, professional, distant.

“Mr. Foxhall, welcome. Please, make yourself comfortable.”

Darin nodded with a polite smile. “Thank you.”

They shook hands and sat down opposite each other.

Felicia dove right into the interview, covering the main topics quickly and efficiently.

Once the biggest talking points were out of the way, she suddenly tossed out a question that cut straight to the bone. “People say the chairman of IronGate Industries has been grooming you as his successor. As CEO, you’ve started expanding your M&A business in the capital, using your acquisitions to take over IronGate subsidiaries. What are you really after here?”

She didn’t bother responding to his non-answer. Instead, she fired off her next question. “Mr. Max Hawthorne and your sister, Andrea, have been together for five years now. Any plans for a wedding? Do you think this relationship could impact your partnership with BlueMarble Investments?”

Max’s name came up in the news all the time. He’d once gone viral for a photo at a public event, all sharp suits and effortless charisma. People couldn’t get enough of him, and for a while, any paper with his face on it sold out instantly. Some fans even camped outside BlueMarble Investments, hoping for a chance to run into him, dreaming of a real-life Cinderella story.

After that, Max stopped allowing photos at public events or interviews. Rumors about his private life disappeared from the internet.

Now, with Felicia’s question, his personal life was suddenly front and center again, and everyone in the business world—and outside of it—would be talking.

The director shot up from his chair. “Has Evelynn lost her mind?”

Max was not someone you wanted to mess with. Was she trying to get the whole show canceled?

He hurried to tell the crew to switch the broadcast, panic written all over his face.
