"Won't you reconsider, President Davidson? These projects have enormous potential. An opportunity like this won't come around again."

"No need," Alexander said with a faint smile. "If you're so interested, Mr. Chapman, feel free to take them on yourself. The Davidson Group will stay out of it."

With that, he turned to leave.

"Are you sure, President Davidson?" Harold called after him. "The Davidson Group is still reeling from the Nathan situation. The company is unstable. If you pass up these projects, it could shake the very foundation of your enterprise, don't you think?"

Alexander paused for a beat but didn't turn around. "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Chapman," he said coolly. "I know how to manage my own company."

Then he strode away, leaving Harold standing there, his face a mask of frustration.

Outside, Alexander considered the encounter. Harold's offer was clearly more than it seemed. He was likely trying to exploit the recent instability at The Davidson Group to cause trouble.

He needed to get back immediately and have Nash tighten internal security and monitor the Chapman Group's activities to prevent any sudden moves.

He took out his phone and dialed Nash. "Nash, I need you to immediately look into the Chapman Group's recent activities, especially regarding the projects they were working on with Nathan. See if there's anything unusual."

"Also, tighten security and management within the company."

"Right away, Mr. Davidson. I'm on it," Nash replied with his usual efficiency before hanging up.

Nash was puzzled. Alexander had already handed over full control of The Davidson Group to him before Nathan's arrest. He didn't understand why Mr. Davidson was suddenly intervening, but he followed the order without question.

Vivian pulled back, her eyes teary, and looked her over from head to toe. Seeing no obvious injuries, only a slight paleness in her face, she began to relax.

Though calmer, she still held onto Danielle's hand tightly, peppering her with questions.

"My dear, what on earth happened? How did you just disappear like that? Did someone hurt you? Were you mistreated?"

Danielle listened patiently until her mother calmed down a bit, then explained simply, "I ran into some trouble on a business trip and was held on an island. But Alexander rescued me. I'm really okay."

She deliberately omitted the more harrowing details, not wanting to worry her mother further.

Vivian finally let out a long breath, guiding her to the sofa and pouring her a cup of hot water. "You can't scare us like that again. If anything happens, you have to call home immediately."
