Liam's head snapped to the side from the force of the blow. Strands of messy hair fell across his forehead, hiding the shock and surprise in his eyes. It had happened so suddenly that no one had time to react.

Mrs. Grayson slowly lowered her hand, her gaze cold as she looked at him. Her finely drawn brows furrowed. "What are you doing here?"

Liam slowly came to his senses. He let out a short, sharp laugh. "What a question, Mrs. Grayson. Why can't I be here?" he shot back, his eyebrow arched.

His gaze drifted to Liliana, who was standing beside Mrs. Grayson with a look of surprise, and his eyes deepened. His voice, low and lazy, took on a rough edge. "Actually, Mrs. Grayson, the real question is what are *you* doing at the Hart residence?"

Mrs. Grayson glared at him, her beautiful, well-maintained face filled with undisguised disgust. She didn't say a word.

Mrs. Hart, finally recovering, stepped in to awkwardly mediate. "Liam, dear... your... Mrs. Grayson is here today because of Matthew. Isabella said she wants to talk to Liliana, so..."
