"Name?"

"Sophia."

"What is your relationship to the deceased?"

"She's my sister."

"Where were you at 8 PM on the 18th?"

"At the Cosmetic Clinic."

"Liar! Surveillance footage shows you following Emily into an alley at 8 PM that night!"

I met the officer's gaze steadily: "I was at the clinic for a mole removal. There's both video footage and surgical records to prove it. If you doubt me, check them yourself."

I handed over a USB drive with the clinic's surveillance footage.

The officer reviewed it, looking defeated.

As I walked out, he glared at me, promising to find evidence against me.

Such naivety.

Andrew took his team to the clinic, confirming that it was possible to travel from the alley to the clinic. He verified that I was indeed there at the time of Emily's death.

John still harbors doubts about me. His recent kindness seems like a tactic to keep me under control. As I stirred my coffee, I was torn between feeling reassured and feeling disheartened.

Leaning back, I pondered my next move.

Andrew patted John on the shoulder: "Calm down. Sophia's changes might be due to her pregnancy. She mentioned having the mole removed. But…"

"What?" John demanded, frustrated.

"Right now, only Sophia has been at the crime scene. Plus, Emily's wealthy associate also knows Sophia. The latter part of the surveillance footage is missing. Everything points to Sophia!"

Andrew and John lapsed into a heavy silence.
