No movement. Perfectly still except the rise and fall of his chest. Now what? He's supposed to be better by now... why isn't his wolf healing him already? It was just an arrow?

"Hey Lexi, how is he?" I looked over my shoulder to see Tucker came into the room. He was in a fresh set of clothes, and I was happy someone must've offered him some.

"Isn't he supposed to be up by now?" I asked him worried, looking back to Chase.

"Umm yeah." He came over, and kneeled down beside me. "We should probably call the doctor..." he stared intently at Chase, as if he would suddenly jump up.

"Okay..." Tucker pulled his phone out and stood up. He paced around the room as he talked. "Alright Doc. We will see you in an hour."

"Tucker?"

"Yeah?"

I stroked Chase's hair absent mindlessly as I spoke. "How did you become beta so fast?"

"I was third in command, so I automatically have to take it." He shrugged walking back to the chair he sat in last night. The couch Connor had previously occupied was closer, but I don't blame him for not wanting to sit there.

"Oh, I get it. At my old pack if someone died they used to have fights between the people that wanted it. The survivor would take the position." I explained, cringing at how brutal the fights are. Over the years many people had challenged our Alpha, obviously they never won. An Alpha was blessed with Alpha genes fora reason. They were stronger and bigger than the average wolf. I never understood why other pack members would challenge him, they were sure to lose.

The woman who had been helping Sally last night walked out of the bedroom. "Mom? How is she?" Tucker asked.

I looked over to the women, I could see the resemblance. They both had caramel colored hair and tan skin, but Tucker had striking blue eyes that out shined his mothers dark ones.

"She won't eat, or drink, or talk." She let out a huff of air. "She can't lead the pack like this!" She plopped down into the chair right next to Tucker's. He gently grabbed her hand and just held it her his chest.

Then his mother turned to me. "You!" She sounded happy, pointing a finger at me. You go talk to her! She always loved you!"

"He won't. You will." His mother stepped in to the conversation looking at me.

"Excuse me?" I must have heard her wrong. Why in the world would I lead the pack? I'm not even apart of it yet.

"You're supposed to be an alpha female right?" She asked.

"Well yes, but..." I'm still not following. I'm not Luna. My rejection from my mate made that very clear to me.

"Then why not our Luna? It's clear to everyone Chase loves you... So step it up!" She demanded. I looked back at her with wife eyes.

"I don't know..." I bite my lip thinking. My eyes automatically went to Chase. He looked so calm and relaxed. His lips were parted slightly, and his head was tilted to the left. He looked so young.

"You'll be great at it Lexi!" Tucker encouraged. Oh yeah, that's really encouraging coming from a guy who doesn't even personally know me.
