After dropping that freezing directive, Winslow turned on his heel and walked out, harshly snapping at the servants outside to get in there and clean up the broken porcelain.

Rowena leaned weakly against the headboard, slowly closing her eyes.

Two trails of cold tears slid silently down her wrinkled cheeks.

Useless. Her son was completely and hopelessly useless.

The next morning, Rowena summoned reporters from all the major press outlets in the capital and laid out the entire conspiracy for them to see.

The ugly truth behind the whole mess was exposed without a single detail held back.

Unsurprisingly, even these seasoned reporters, who were used to insane internal pack drama, looked completely shellshocked.

Rowena quietly watched the expressions on their facesthe skepticism, the political calculation, the cold indifference.

Taking a deep breath, she continued, I am overwhelmingly ashamed of my actions. I condemned Luna Wanda without launching a proper, thorough investigation first. Now that the truth has been brought to light, by the Moon Goddess above, it is my absolute duty to clear Wanda’s name.

At the same time, I want to use this disaster as a warning to every single member of the Glenveil Pack: you must never, under any circumstances, blindly convict someone based solely on a onesided narrative. In a world drowning in lies, our only defense is to remain calm and objective, and let the hard evidence reveal the truth.

Her raw, unflinching monologue earned the deep respect of every reporter in the room.

Over the next few days, the toxic rumors flooding the capital finally began to burn out.

After the blind rage and verbal attacks faded, a portion of the public actually started to cool down and look at the real value of the Independent Center.

Some wolves started realizing that the Center was really just offering a basic lifeline to shewolves scraping the bottom of the barrel. It wasn’t breaking werewolf law, and it wasn’t challenging the Lycan King’s authority. Did the elites sitting at the top of the food chain seriously lack even that basic shred of mercy?

Recently, Melinda showed up completely out of the blue at the Independent Center.

She used the public mindlink channel to drop a massive statement: effective immediately, she was officially severing all ties with the Silverlight pack and disowning Alpha Howell as her father. From that day forward, she would be taking up permanent residence at the Independent Center.

This wasn’t some impulsive tantrum,

Melinda had been turning the idea over in her head from the very beginning, back when the Center had first opened and not a single shewolf had dared to step inside.

She had brought it up with Georgia Erlan and Paige Fitzgerald a few times, but they had both violently opposed it. They argued

that moving in during such a politically volatile time would look like a cheap PR stunt to artificially boost the Center’s reputation.

But after weathering the relentless string of recent chaos, Melinda’s resolve had only hardened.

Left with no other choice, Georgia specifically sought out Adelaide for advice.

Adelaide personally went to Melinda’s place and spent the entire night talking it out with her. In the end, Adelaide greenlit the move, but laid down one nonnegotiable condition: Melinda had to publicly announce a complete and total break from the Silverlights.

Adelaide was playing the long game. It was only a matter of time before Alpha Howell triggered a massive catastrophe. By publicly disowning him now, Melinda was shielding herself from getting caught in the political crossfire later.

Melinda wasn’t looking that far ahead; she was completely in the dark about most of the highlevel political chess being played.

She was just completely shattered by her parentscoldblooded nature. After enduring that fake, hollow mating contract with Dwight Santos, Melinda had finally woken up to a hard truth: you can’t force a bond that isn’t real. So, she packed her bags and moved into the Center to start over.

Meanwhile, right after kicking Sabrina out, Winslow sent the pack’s head butler to pick up Wanda.

Paisley and Harper happened to be at the Center when the Glenveil butler rolled up. Everyone fully expected Wanda to be ecstatic and bolt out the door instantly.

After all, she had hit rock bottom, throwing away every ounce of her dignity just to beg for a bed at the Center. Now that she had the chance to go back and reclaim her title as a noble Luna, given her usual arrogant personality, she was bound to sneer at everyone before making a grand exit.

Instead, Wanda was sitting alone in the garden, hugging her knees and staring blankly into the distance.

Melinda walked over quietly and sat down next to her. Why aren’t you leaving?

Wanda looked up, her eyes totally hollow and lost. Leave? Where am I supposed to go?

Back to your pack to resume your life as a highsociety Luna,Melinda said blankly.

Wanda didn’t answer. She just started nervously tearing up the wildflowers growing next to her.

Right on cue, Sandra marched over, her brow furrowed in annoyance.

Those wildflowers are just trying to grow in peace. What the hell did they do to you?.

When Wanda first arrived, she absolutely despised Sandra.

Honestly, she despised Harper, she despised everyone at the Center, and she especially despised the damn broom they shoved into her hands every single day.
