Chapter 901

Third Person’s POV

Half an hour later, the scouts Adelaide had sent out returned with their report. “Paisley isn’t at the pack. The butler said she went to the Independent She-Wolf Center, but we couldn’t find her there.”

Adelaide frowned, sensing that something was off.

The scout continued, “There’s something else strange. The Blue Abyss Pack delivered a batch of supplies to the She-Wolf Center today. Paisley was supposed to inspect them before they could be moved inside. But she never showed up, so all the supplies are still piled up outside the entrance.”

Adelaide’s heart sank. Alpha Germain was far too cunning. Why would he suddenly donate supplies to the She-Wolf Center?

Before leaving home that morning, she had specifically told Wendy to stay by Paisley’s side and protect her. Could Wendy have disappeared too?

Adelaide refused to think about that possibility. She immediately rushed outside and called out for Valerie, but there was no answer.

Valerie was supposed to be her escort today. Why was she missing as well?

“Gamma Adelaide, what happened?”

Anilo rarely saw Adelaide this frantic. He hurried over to ask.

“Are you looking for Valerie? I happened to see her earlier. She looked like she was in a hurry and didn’t even notice me.”

“Where did you see her?” Adelaide grabbed his shoulder and demanded an answer.

“Near the city gates. I was patrolling there.”

“That must have been when Germain was leaving.”

Adelaide turned and ran toward her horse. Without looking back, she shouted an order to Anilo, “The plan has changed! Everyone comes with me to find Paisley. Contact Ellen immediately and start a citywide search!”

She didn’t know whether Paisley was truly in danger, but her wolf was growling uneasily inside

her. That was never a good sign.

Anilo followed after her, trying to reassure her.

“Don’t worry. Maybe Paisley just went out of the city for a while to clear her mind…”

“Impossible! Go find her!” Adelaide mounted her horse in one swift motion, cracked the reins, and galloped out of the gate.

Her first stop was the Stag Hunter Pub. It housed a hidden intelligence outpost belonging to the Blackthorn Pack, and she needed to confirm whether Wendy was there.

But the pub owner only shook his head in confusion. He hadn’t seen Wendy. Even the intelligence agents stationed there had suddenly disappeared.

At that moment, Anilo caught up. Seeing Adelaide’s grim expression, he quickly stepped forward and asked, “Go to the She-Wolf Center yourself and find out if Paisley was there today.

“Send another team to Blackthorn. Find out every place Paisley mentioned she would visit before she left today. Now!”

“Understood!”

Anilo had rarely seen Adelaide this shaken. Realizing how serious the situation was, he immediately turned his horse around and began assigning people.

When he reached the Independent She-Wolf Center as quickly as possible, he saw several transport vehicles parked chaotically outside the entrance, loaded with all kinds of daily supplies.

He rushed into the courtyard and found Georgina to ask what had happened.

Georgina quickly explained. “The supplies outside were all delivered by the Blue Abyss Pack. But Paisley never showed up, not even once.”

Meanwhile, Adelaide had already raced out of the city.

Just as she reached the outskirts, she saw Valerie hurrying toward her, her face pale with anxiety.

Adelaide pulled hard on the reins and blocked her path.

“Valerie! Have you seen Paisley?”

“Gamma Adelaide… I… I’m not sure.” Valerie’s face was drained of color.

She had planned to return to the city and ask Adelaide for help. Now that she had finally found her, she quickly reported, “An hour ago, Tessa Morgan suddenly found me and told me to hurry out of the city after Alpha Germain’s convoy.

“She said Wendy had been secretly protecting Paisley all day. But after Germain’s convoy left the city gates, Paisley disappeared.”

“Why would she leave with Germain?”

Adelaide didn’t even have time to wipe the sweat from her forehead as she pressed for

answers.
