Chapter 875
Third Person’s POV
Her screech severed his drifting thoughts, dragging him brutally back to reality.
Ulrik lifted his head, his face half-swallowed by the shadows of the room.
He murmured, the words tasting like ash, “Reject?”
“Yes! I want to break the bond!”
Gloria slammed her umbrella onto the floor. Splattering rainwater across the hardwood, she stormed in, her expression bor manic.
“It’s not like I haven’t survived a rejection before. Doing it a second time won’t kill me. Your wolf doesn’t love me, Ulrik, and feels the exact same way. Eugene is still single-he’s the one my wolf truly chose as my mate. I’m going back to him.”
Ulrik blinked, genuinely thrown. “Eugene?”
“In my eyes, he’s ten times the man you’ll ever be. I was meant to be his mate from the start. We only missed our chance beca everyone had rumored he’d died in battle. Now that he’s back alive, he’s the only one I want to be with.”
It took Ulrik a few agonizing seconds to place the name.
Oddly enough, facing Gloria’s blatant betrayal, he felt no rage. Instead, a cold, detached remark slipped past his lips, “Eugene won’t take you back.”
The words struck Gloria right where it hurt most. Flustered, she blurted out, “Then I’ll go to Melvin.”
“Melvin?”
Ulrik had no clue who that was. Yet, the intimacy in Gloria’s tone suggested they were far from strangers.
A hollow pang of disappointment settled in his chest. To live with his mate for so long, only to realize he didn’t know her apall “Who is he?”
Gloria froze, her tongue tying up as she evaded his gaze.
The memory of her brief, reckless tryst with Melvin flashed through her mind. She didn’t love Melvin, of course. But looking of the miserable reality of her current life, she suddenly craved the cheap warmth he used to give her
“Who exactly is Melvin?” Ulrik rose, closing the distance between them as he repeated the question.
There was no jealousy in his voice, let alone fury. He simply thought that if there was another he-wolf out there capable of givin her happiness, he should let her go.
He didn’t want to trap her in a pack she despised using a mere mate mark, forcing them to torture each other until the end of their days.
Perhaps the Moon Goddess had cursed his entire existence. A cowardly Alpho like him never
served a mate in the first place
“No, nobody Just a name,” Gloria hutted, turning her lace away to hide the suit fackgring in her eye

→ just want you to understand that I can have a perfectly fine life even if I leave you and this pack. Look at me–I’m the Luna o pack, yet you won’t even give me the bare minimum of respect. You pathetic loser, what gives you the right to come home eve day and treat me with nothing but cold indifference?”
Ulrik listened to her tirade in silence, the brutal truth of their relationship laid bare before him.
Their wolves held zero attraction for one another. What was the point of forcing a bond that was dead on arrival?
He had always known he was a failure. Gloria was the pampered sister of the Ironclaw Pack’s Alpha; her bloodline was elite. It only natural for her to look down on the Alpha of a struggling, low-tier pack like his.
“If you want to go to this Melvin, then go,” he said quietly. “I will grant you the rejection.”
Gloria gasped, utterly stunned. She had only meant to throw a tantrum to rattle him, never expecting him to actually agree.
Years of suppressed bitterness and resentment came rushing to the surface. She remembered her humiliating, impoverished lit here in the Bloodmoon Pack. She remembered the nights of sheer terror when Ulrik was locked away in the dungeons.
Now, he was finally back safe, yet he was always a ghost-distant, disrespectful, and completely devoid of affection.
Unable to hold it in any longer, Gloria collapsed onto the floor, bursting into violent, sobbing tears.
But Ulrik merely stared down at her, his eyes hollow and dead. He made no move to comfort her.
His indifference fueled the fire in her chest. With bloodshot eyes, she glared up at him and roared, “Fine. Fine! If you loathe me tl much, then we’re done!”
Ulrik reached down to pull her to her feet, his expression dead serious. “Fine. I respect your choice. Take whatever you want from the Bloodmoon Pack. Anything except the three hundred grand under Velda’s name.”
Gloria could scarcely believe her ears. “You’re really discarding/me?”
“I’m not discarding you. You are the one who wants to leave-to leave me and the pack you’ve always hated. I am simply respecting your decision.”
Ulrik’s eyes softened with a heavy shroud of guilt.
“Gloria, I’m sorry. I’ve failed too many people in this life, and I refuse to drag you down with me. Let’s end this peacefully. There’s nothing left for you in the Bloodmoon Pack. I truly hope you find a mate who is worthy of you.”
