A Mistake Mate novel Chapter 47

A blush started to crawl up my neck before I attempted to sink into Xander. Obviously sensing my embarrassment Xander chuckled before wrapping an arm around my small frame and tightly squeezing me to his side. I sighed and tried to hide my face in his chest but it really wasn't working.

"Wow, I never saw that one coming." Aunt Lilly giggled as she looked affectionately at Xander and I.

"I did." My mom and Emily, Xander's mom, spoke at the same time. They both burst into laughter and I almost rolled my eyes, sometimes they act more like children then we do.

The adults, finally over there shock, went back to there conversation leaving us alone. Xander turned to me and brought my body in front of his, wrapping his arms around me. I smiled and placed my hands on his chest. We stood in silence, lost in our thoughts.

Suddenly I felt myself staggering forward. I looked up at Xander to see that he looked as surprised as I did. I left a body crash into me from the side and then another.

"Hey guys!" A boys voice yelled. I turned my head the best I could and saw that Xander and I were currently being sandwiched in the middle of a group hug that consisted of Lela, Seth, Perrie, Cole, Dylan and Blake. I groaned and tired to push them off of us.

"Guys come on!" I cried. Everybody chuckled before slowly pealing themselves off of us. I was still pressed tightly to Xander so I pulled away and simply entwined my fingers with his. Our friends were standing around us with goofy grins on there faces and I couldn't help but to laugh.

We all chatted for a little while longer before my dads voice rang out in the clearing.

"We're going to start this pack meeting now everybody so please give us your attention." He spoke clearly. Everybody immediately stopped talking and looked towards the front of the clearing where my dad was standing. My mom was to his right side and uncle Josh, the beta, was standing to his other. Reed, Emily and Justin were standing up there as well.

"As most of you know my son, Xander was due to take over the pack on his eighteenth birthday but he didn't because he hadn't found his mate yet but I am very happy to announce that he has now found his mate!" Reed spoke out. Every member from his pack cheered and clapped happily while my members smiled and congratulated them.

"I'm not sure how many of you know this already but Paisley has also found her mate." My dad began but was cut off by the cheers of our pack. He smiled before shushing them again.

I furrowed my eyes brows and gently elbowed Xander. He chuckled in reply. The meeting went on with my dad and Reed answering any questions there were before they called it to a close. Members of both packs took there turn congratulating us and by the time we finally escaped them the sun was already setting.

Instead of going to the car like I assumed we would Xander lead me in the direction of the woods. I raised my eyebrows but didn't question him. We stopped about five minutes later and I noticed that we were on the cliff that he had taken me to last night.

A small smile made its way onto my face as Xander tucked me into his side. We stood there in complete silence, watching the sun disappear behind the mountains and I have never felt more happy then I did in that moment.

*Xander's POV*

Pride, happiness, joy. Just a few words that come to my mind when I think of my little mate. Paisley brings me all of those emotions and more. She's everything I could have asked for in a mate and I was so incredibly stupid to have pushed her away like I did in the beginning.
