I looked up and saw all the rogues dead, and only some of my warriors injured, nothing major. If anything, I think I have it the worst out of anyone. Everyone was breathing heavily and looking around.
Macey.
With that thought I turned around and sprinted through the forest and back to the pack house. I shifted and pulled on some basketball shorts and a shirt I found in one of the many baskets laying around. I ran through the pack house looking for Macey when I finally came across Maria hugging her tightly and crying into her shoulder, mumbling incoherent words. Macey was hugging her back, with her eyes closed tightly.
I sighed in relief and leaned against the wall. I put my head against it, trying to fight off the headache I had and the burning pain coming from my injuries. Well aware of the blood soaking my shirt, and how my wounds aren't healing yet. I slowly walked over to them, thanking the Moon Goddess she was alright, or else Logan and Max would no doubt kill the most painful way possible.
I hugged them from behind, scaring them slightly, but they soon relaxed once they noticed it was me. They stiffened again, slowly looking back at me. Maria gasped and set Macey down. They both had my blood on them, but I didn't care, I was just glad Macey was back and safe and unharmed.
"Jacob! You're bleeding!" Maria exclaimed, pointing out the obvious.
I really didn't hear her, the smell of raspberry and chocolate filled my nose. I looked around, but saw no one, but then right there in front of me, there she was. The girl I've known since we were babies. The girl that has helped out everyone, including me, the girl that was way too good for me.
"Geena..." I murmured.
She stared at me fear in her eyes, she took a step towards me, but stopped again. I went to take a step forward, but almost crumbled to the ground, thankfully there was a wall right there.
"Jacob!" Geena yelled and ran towards me.
Her voice sounded so distant, even though she was right next to me. My breathing became harder, my eye lids were getting heavy. I felt someone wrap themselves around me as I slowly sink to the floor and let darkness consume me.
I was awake, but my eyes wouldn't open. It's pretty annoying.
I felt someone holding my hand, rubbing small circles on the back of my hand. It was relaxing. And by the tingles shooting up through my arm, I immediately knew it was Geena.
I move my hand to hold hers. Geena stopped all movement and I heard her breath hitch.
"Jacob?" I heard the hope in her voice, but also heard at how tired it sounded. I frowned slightly.
I finally pried my eyes open and looked over at Geena. Her hazel eyes had dark bags under them, and they were slightly red and puffy. I lifted my hand up to her cheek and she leaning into my touch. I smiled slightly.
"Jerk," I mimicked her and then smiled at her as her cheeks turn a soft pink color.
Geena was about to sit back down in the chair she was in when I woke up, but I wasn't going to have it. I grabbed her hand and pulled in roughly towards me. She stumbles onto the bed and into my arms, which I wrap around her waist, trapping her in so she couldn't leave. Her back was against my chest and I buried my face into her hair, inhaling deeply.
"How long was I out for?" I asked her as she shifted herself on the small hospital bed.
"Almost two days. You lost a lot blood and you had wolfsbane in your system from the attack. They thought you were going to out of it longer than this," Geena explained.
"Is Logan back yet?"
"Yeah, but Max is still out of it. She was good to be moved here, but she isn't healed yet. Logan would be here if she wasn't in the condition she's in."
"I understand," I murmured.
I looked up to the ceiling and tightened my arms around Geena. I was going to try my hardest to protect her, but she is hardheaded, almost as much as Max, so if she wanted to do something there probably was no stopped her from doing it.
