"I will get to that immediately mams," She respond with adoration on her face while she picks the landline and dialed a number on it, "Morning sir, Miss Marshall, Miss Lopez and Miss Fredrich are here to see you sir, alright sir." She drops the landline with fear evident on her face, "He's on his way, will you like anything to drink or snack on before he gets here?" She asks not meeting our eyes like before anymore. "We are good thank you." Ava replied instead sending a smile towards her.
"Miss Marshall, the jet is ready for take-off mam, is there anything you want the manager to get for you?" one of the guards asked, "it can take off, we aren't going on that plane and the manager is to get is another plane." Mila answered him instead. "Is there a problem with the jet mam? the jet is one of Mr. Marshall products and his company's products are the best." He said with curiosity written all over his face, "nothing is wrong with the plane, Diamond just don't feel welcome on the plane." Ava said to him gently while she squeezes my hand that she's still holding, I looked at her with a tiny small one my lips and teary eyes.
"Oh, is there anything we can do to make you feel welcome on the plane? He inquired "It's okay, there is nothing you can do but thanks for asking." I told him timidly, a man who seem to be in his early forties walks up to us with fear in his eyes, he using his hand to adjust his Italian black suit. "Good morning mams, I am Nelson Webley the manager of this airport, at your service." He said to us politely with his presence I noticed the guard talking to us excuse himself to make a call, probably to tell the pilot to take off without us.
"We need to have a chat with you, is there any suitable place that can take place?" Mila asked Mr. Nelson, who was looking at me with fear in his eyes.
"Yes, follow me please. We can talk in my office if it's suitable enough for you." He said walking towards a door while we followed him with the security agents following us, we followed him into a spacious office with a huge desk and few chairs in it, a three-seater sofa is also placed in the room, a cabinet is placed by the wall with paper work is scattered on the huge desk, a landline and a laptop are also placed on the desk. I and my friends take our seat on the sofa while the guards take guard, Mr. Webley stands in front of us looking nervous. "You can take your seat, Mr. Webley." Ava said to him, he pulls a seat and sits in front of us.
"We need a plane to California, how much does it cost for one? Mila said to him getting straight to the reason at hand, "oh, the Marshalls still have two planes parked in their private hanger If I can get an approval from Mr. or Mrs. Marshall, I will contact one of their pilot to come fly you instead of paying for another private plane." He said to us looking more relaxed.
As much as I wanted to buy his idea, I also didn't want to disturb my dad. We spoke last week and he was very busy and I also don't want him to question my reasons for not taking the one mom arranged for us and as for mom, I don't want her to be suspicious of anything and she will want to get to the root of why I decided to fly on another plane.
The ring of my phone bought me out of my thoughts, checking the caller it was my dad, what are the odds I picked it up.
Me: Good morning Dad.
Dad: Morning, how are you doing?
Me: Am fine Dad and you
Dad: Same here, I got a call from the airport telling me, you don't feel welcome on a plane. Can I ask why Is that?
Me: (my heart skipped a beat and I look at my friends, with fear in my voice) Actually dad, I didn't mean it like that. I and my friends were just scared that's all.
He picks up a paper from his desk, looking at it "flight to California leaves by 7:15am, which is 15 minutes to now. What do you need?" He said to me, looking at me worriedly.
"Can we still get tickets for the flight?" I asked him with hopes that he will say yes.
"Sure, the first class is even empty so I should book tickets for how many?" He asked me picking up his laptop and type away, looking around to count those of us present in the room including the bodyguards. "Can we get for eight people and how much will that cost?" I replied him.
"That will be $1600." He answered standing up from his seat "we should move if you want to meet up with the flight" He said to us. We followed him out of his office, walking back to the ticketing terminal.
I paid for our tickets and we moved to the boarding terminal with our passport and tickets in hand, we board the flight taking our seat and strap ourselves in for the journey.
I looked at my friends and smile at them sadly. I really messed up this time around, everyone is right and nothing but an orphan and it will never change.
