Adopted novel Chapter 29

Looking up to see who slapped her back, I see Mom who was holding her phone looking at Mia in disgust, "Who are you to lay a hand on my baby? You dare slap my own daughter," Mom shouted with tears in her eyes, she walks to me pulling my hand away from the cheek that was slapped, she gasped in response "please get me an ice pack and someone call Dr. Brooks right now," She shouted while she pulls me to a sofa, "Who slapped her?" A voice asked from her phone.

She looks at her phone in anger "what did Diamond mean by her dad not wanting her?" She said to the person in response, the look on her face says it all she was talking with dad I stood up from beside her and walk towards the maid who is holding the ice pack, "please where is my room located?" I asked her with a tiny smile, "second floor is for you and your friends it's 4-bedroom suite, do you need help with that? She replied me pointing to the ice pack. I shake my head in response, looking at where mom is seated she is still engrossed in her conversation with dad while she keeps shouting at him. I looked at my friends who walked towards me and we walked up the stairs together to our room.

Entering the room behind the door, it looks like another apartment on its own with the sitting room looking elegant and pricey, Versace designed sofa sets is placed in the sitting room with a Versace center table, a 52-inch television set sits on the wall with a Versace stand under it, a mini kitchen is opposite the sitting room, a mini snack bar and a book shelf is placed in the sitting room beside the window. Everything in the sitting room looks like a Versace show room.

"Let me see that," Ava pulls me out of my sightseeing of the sitting room, she pulls me to the three seats sofa and places me in between she and Mils, who collected the ice pack from me. "This is going to sting a lot," She said as she placed the ice pack on my cheek and uses her palm to hold it against my cheek, "that bitch I just want to strangle her and watch life drains from her, how could she?" Ava said angrily. "No killing, it's bad for our image and am very sure Mrs. Marshall will do something about it." Mils said to her looking distance, "thanks guys, am fine this is nothing compared to what I went through in the Orphanage." I told them pulling the pack away from my face, I smile at them. "Okay then, but are you really alright?" Mils asked not confused by my confession.

"What about we all just forget today's incident and watch Netflix or something, we are in California ladies." I suggested wanting to pull all attentions away from me with hope that they can still enjoy the weekend, "I will search for popcorn, in case there is none we can make do with gummy worms and smarties." Ava said standing up and walks into the kitchen, "I will find a movie we can watch on Netflix," She picked her phone to browse. "I will get blankets." I said to her while I made my way to the rooms.

"Dr Rossi," Mils shouted standing up to hug the Doctor, who is smiling with adoration on his face, "Mimi look at you, all grown up and taking the world by storm. What are you doing in California thought your school is located in NY? Is that little Avie" He said to her after pulling a grinning Ava into a hug and pulls away to place kisses on their head. "We are invited for the weekend by Mrs. Marshall because her daughter is our best friend," Mils told him grinning from ear to ear while she points at me, I wave at him timidly, he walks towards me and mom follows him.

"A new damisela in the group, you must be the Diamond Lorenzo and Theo can't stop talking about, you are a beauty child" He said to me while he scouts in front of me looking shocked but covers it with a smile, he looks at Mom and back at me in confusion then back at Mom again with a grin, he pulls me into a hug which lasted for a longtime before he pulls away only to dab his teary eyes.
