He set the clean bowls and chopsticks in front of Isabella.
Isabella glanced over the menu and picked two of their signature dishes, then added a plate of greens.
“There’s just the two of us. Three dishes should be plenty. Do you want to order soup?”
“I don’t think we need it. Three dishes are already a lot for us. If we get soup too, we’ll never finish, and it’ll just end up wasted.”
Harold knew Isabella was practical and easygoing. He let go of his usual fussiness and fit right in with her way of doing things. She hated waste.
“No soup then,” he said.
Isabella scribbled down their order and waved to the server, handing over the slip.
Harold poured her a glass of warm water.
“So, when are those two dramas you just finished filming coming out?”
“The soonest would be in two weeks, but usually it takes closer to twenty days. Things have been pretty good so far. Even the shows we released a while back are still bringing in some money. Not as much as when they first launched, but it adds up over time.”
Her company had put out quite a few series. Two had become huge hits, and the rest, even if they weren’t blockbusters, still made a profit. Only one or two had flopped. All in all, her short drama project was making real money.
When you catch the right wave, even a pig could fly. She was determined to make the most of these next six months, film as much as possible, and earn while she could. If her shows weren’t top-notch, they wouldn’t stand out anymore.
He leaned in a little. “Jordan and Natalie brought another woman into the picture to compete with Deborah for Jackson’s attention.”
Isabella blinked in surprise, then gave him a mischievous look. “Really? And how do you know all this?”
Harold replied, “When I helped you look into that thing with Sophia and the drugs, I ended up uncovering the stuff Jordan and Natalie were pulling behind the scenes.”
“Do you know who the woman is?”
Harold just smiled, keeping her in suspense. Isabella’s curiosity was obvious. She watched him closely, and Harold couldn’t help but enjoy having her full attention.
