Alana's POV

"What the hell is this Aiden?" I repeat and he gulps.

"Sunflower...your father...he's alive."

My world spins and I feel my whole body seize.

"No...my dad committed suicide..." I clench my jaw and he sighs.

"The day after our wedding someone knocked on our door remember?" I nod reluctantly. "It was your dad.....when I told him that...he was supposed to be dead. He said that he had a lot to explain."

"You knew this for about two weeks?" I raise an eyebrow and he takes a step forward but I take one back.

"Alana...I didn't want you to get upset...so I kept it from you. But believe me when I say I was going to tell you."

"When?" I cry. "It doesn't exactly look like you were!" I scoff, flying the phone to the wall and he eyes it.

I run my hand through my hair and pace the room.

"Baby listen to me-"

"No! You don't play around with things like that Aiden!"

"I wasn't playing! I- I was protecting you."

"All those times in Paris. The comments, the...the text messages? It was him, wasn't it? And you freaking knew it and you didn't tell me!"

"Alana. Understand me-"

"No Aiden, understand me. If my dad's alive, you should've called me since he was at that door!"

"I didn't want to ruin our honeymoon! We just got married for lord's sake."

"I know, I exactly understand. You didn't want to dampen my mood because you knew that maybe then you wouldn't get anything from me."

"What?" He says incredulously, sounding upset. "Are you saying that I protected you for sex?"

Well, when he says it like that...

"That's what it seems like honestly."

"Are you stupid? We just got married! I love you, Alana. Sex? What in the world is sex when it comes to you? I was trying to protect you from getting hurt. I didn't want to see you all down and mopey at our honeymoon so I kept it from you." He turns on his heels and stomps away.

I bite my lip staring at his back as he slams the door, nearly knocking it off its hinges.

I sigh and plop down on the couch, my head in my hands.

He's alive?

But how?

Is that why I didn't see him in my dream?

The doorbell rings and I run towards it. I take a deep breath before warily opening it. A man, a bit taller than me, stood. His eyes were wide, just like mine and I keep opening and closing my mind like a fish.

"Alana..." He murmurs and I blink. "You're so grown now."

"You're supposed to be dead." Was the first thing that left my mouth.

"I can explain-"

Tears fall and I bring my hand back to slap him.

His head moves to the side.

"So what now? You wanna make-up? Be the best father and daughter?" He looks at me and I shake my head in disgust.

"Get out," I mumble and his eyes widen.

"Alana wait-"

"Get out!" I yell standing and he purses his lips, slowly getting up.

"One day you will listen to me, little girl. You and I both know what I'm capable of." He says darkly and the tears were no falling full stream as he leaves.

He killed her.

All this time I thought my mom took her own life...I thought...I thought she had a choice.

Now she's dead, and he's happy living.

Why couldn't it be him instead of her?

I sob loudly as a wave of sadness envelopes me. I put one hand against the wall, trying to support myself as the pain weighs me down but I end up crashing anyway.

I sink into the corner of the room.

My dad's a murderer everyone.

Flipping great.
