My stomach grumbled as I put on my robe, scratching the back of my head I make my way to the kitchen. I spot brown hair falling from behind the blankets that Veronica used last night.
Her face was covered as her hand hang freely down her side. I softly laugh, I may need to buy an inflatable mattress.
A thought occurs to me, groceries. Damn it, I had it on my to-do list stuck on the fridge's door. How could I forget? Oh yeah, Baby's story. I can't believe I don't know his name yet. I have to ask Veronica once she wakes up.
Quickly washing up, I dress up and I'm out the door by 6 am. I didn't sleep a wink last, maybe 3 hours max? Damn you, Baby.
Grabbing my car keys, I drive to the supermarket. I turn left as I see the original sign on the front, 'Price Chopper.'
As I enter the market, I notice that there isn't a lot of people. Grabbing a basket I begin to go from aisle to aisle selecting my items. As I reach for the 12 pack of eggs I see something flash from the corner of my eyes.
Shifting my head to the side I see a guy in black, holding a basket. Selecting groceries as well, was I starting to see things?
I grabbed the pack of eggs and continue my rounds to look for the things that I need. But as I look into the giant circle mirror on the ceiling, I notice various of guys in black.
I can feel my neck start to sweat. Gripping the handle of my basket, I forget about getting the other things and just decide to pay and get the hell out of here. Where they after me? I don't know, but my gut is demanding me to leave.
Thanking the stars, I see a young cashier looking tired and bored. At least I'm not alone. The thought of those men was now at the back of my head as I take my money out to pay.
The girl placed my few articled in a single big plastic bag and returns me my change along with my receipt.
"Come again, have a nice morning." The girl said in an almost monotone voice. I smiled in return and dashed out to the doors. Feeling eyes stabbing directly at my back.
The sky was still dark as it was still too early in the morning. I pull up my hoodie and sigh, smoke coming out of my mouth.
Gripping by supermarket bag tighter in my grip, I make my way towards my safe place; home.
I make it 3 minutes into the walk before I hear the screech of tires, leaving a trail of dark marks on the street.
"Получить ее!(Get her!)" A male voice yelled, I turned around and before I could scream, a brown bag covers my head.
"Who are you?! Please, let me go, you have the wrong person." I plead to them. Dropping my bag to the ground, I did what my dad always told me to do.
Raising my leg, I hoped to hit the right target. Coming in contact, I hear a man groan and lose his grip on me. I try to scrape the other one holding me with my nails.
Making a fist, I plead to hit right as well.
"Fucking bitch!" Yells the guy as I felt my fist coming in contact with his now swollen cheek.
I grip the top of the bag on my head and rip it out, not looking back, I make a run for it.
Turning to an alley, I see no escape. Fuck, fuck, fuck! No, please God, not this right now. Please, fucking hell!
My ears caught onto the rapid steps of the men, no, no no! As I turn around, I was faced with five men.
"Do not take a step closer! I promise you that you have the wrong person. Let me go, I will not--"
"возлюбленная,(Sweetheart,)" the man dug into his pocket and took out a photo of me from yesterday. When I was in my living room... oh God. They watched me from outside my apartment! And I left Veronica there... alone...
"I can never forget such a beautiful target," the men started to approach me, my back soon hit the brick wall behind me. I looked around for options. But first, I had to distract them, somehow.
"So, who sent you?" My voice came out somewhat normal, I ran my hands secretly behind me and I felt a tube.
"Oh, I think you know him very well. And I take in check that you forgot his comment about bringing a pepper spray with you," they all laughed and continued to step forward. I gripped the tube and pulled it off of its socket.
The smell of gas started to make its way to us. It was a gas pipe, great. I cover my nose as best as I can and focus on the men in front of me.
"Oh look, она хочет играть(she wants to play) with us." The same guy said.
"I don't know what you said, you old coward, but I suggest you leave me the fuck alone before you want a taste of me." I started to cough as the gas started to enter my system. Some of them started to cough too, good.
"You better count on that," his voice started to drop. They hadn't realized that it was a gas pipe leaking, they did when some of them fell to the ground. All of them fell to the ground except for the one that talked.
