Percival stood behind her, his amber eyes filled with possessive adoration as he gazed at Eloise.

Around them, murmurs rippled through the gathered wolves.

"That's the future Alpha's chosen mate? Her coat is magnificent! And look at those silver pendant—a rare Moonsteel crest. Only high-ranking wolves get their hands on those!"

"Of course, it’s her. They’ve been together since their training years. For their Rite of Union, he's claimed an entire hunting territory—a private island where they'll strengthen their connection for a full moon cycle."

"Sounds like something from the ancient legends! God, so jealous. If my mate were even half as devoted as future Alpha Percival, I’d be set for life..."

While I stood frozen, the grizzled Boundary Shaman called out to me.

"Miss Kensington? Your Moon Crossing papers are complete. The ritual permissions have been granted."

My eyes lingered on where their bodies touched, the casual intimacy of true mates.
