But when I closed my door I heard a noise from the end of the hallway so, me being my curious four year old self, decided to see what it was.

The door at the end of the hall was cracked open slightly and a sliver of light was shining through it. I opened the door and saw my mother sitting in front of a piano playing around on the keys.

She smiled at me when she noticed I had entered room and patted the seat beside her.

As she began playing I realised it was a lullaby she also hummed to me when she was putting me to bed. And before I knew it a fell asleep against her side.

Ever since then she would bring me into that room and play the piano and she'd try and teach me a few notes.

After she died, I snuck into the room as much as I could and played around with the piano, it was the only way I still felt connected to my mother.

And if I couldn't sneak into the room at my old house, I'd use the piano in the school and play it there.

Music was my escape.

It was a connection to my mother.

I sighed sadly as I thought of my mother.

I miss her so much, if it weren't for me she would still be alive.

I deserved all the punishment I received. I-

"Stop! It isn't your fault. You were a child!" Tala interrupted sternly.

"But Tala-" I began.

"No! Don't even try to say otherwise" she growled.

I sighed and wiped a tear away from my cheek. I decided not to fight her on this and just forget about it.

My fingertips gently brushed the top of the keys before I finally played a key. And when I played that first key, I didn't stop.

I began playing my mother's lullaby and forgot about my past and all my problems.

Right now, it was just me and the piano.

As I pressed the last key, I let out a sigh of relief.

I felt at peace and relaxed.

"You play the piano beautifully love" a voice commented from behind me.

I jumped in surprise and turned to face a smiling Noah, leaning against the doorframe.

I blushed and looked back towards the piano. I sensed him move closer to me and then saw him sit down beside me.

"Why didn't you tell me you could play?" He asked.

"It never came up" I said through mindlink while shrugging.

(AN: italics=mindlink)

"Where did you learn to play?" He asked again.

"Thank you sweetheart" Noah said once we finished dinner then kissed my forehead.

I nodded and smiled then got up to do the wash up and Noah soon joined me.

I washed, he dried then put them away.

"Would you like to watch some movies?" He asked. I nodded and took his hand in mine then we walked upstairs to our room.

.

The day I've dreaded has arrived.

Today's the day my father and Beta James are coming to the pack.

I've been dreading this for the past week and it only got worse as the day grew closer and I'm sure the pack can sense there's something wrong.

Besides all the time I spent worrying about today, my week hasn't been too bad.

I socialised with some of the women in the pack as we prepared dinner and I would go to visit the kids in the orphanage everyday and play with them.

And that's where I am right now.

I figured it would help me with the nerves by hanging around with these free-spirited, innocent kids.

We were currently making finger paintings and there is paint everywhere, and I mean everywhere. On the walls, the floors, the tables, chairs, my face, their faces and somehow it got onto the pet hamsters they have here.
