I don't know who this man is, but he is not looking for his mate, he is looking to hurt me at least right now. I gather all of the strength that I still possess within me and pull my feet up to my chest and push my good foot forward into the wolf's jaw. The wolf reels back and growls some more at me before lunging at me. Luckily I pulled my legs back in time so he only bit into my jeans. I kicked him again and this time he fell to the ground unconscious.
I leaned back against the tree to rest while I gathered some more strength to crawl to different hiding spot, since my ankle isn't in the best of shape. When my breathing slowed and my heart beat calmed down, I opened my eyes and crawled over the scary wolf and tried to find a better place to hide.
After about an hour of crawling through the woods I found another cave, I hurriedly crawled over to the opening of the cave and went inside. This time there was no one occupying this one. I crawl inside a bit more so no one could see me if the just glanced into the cave. A few moments later I heard a few howls, that sounded joyful, so I am assuming that there are some new happy couples in the werewolf community.
I look at the entrance of the cave to make sure that no one is there and was surprised to see another wolf there sitting staring into the cave. He cocked his head to the side, then looked straight at me, but I knew that he couldn't see me this far into the cave. He got up and stalked inside the cave heading straight for me. I scooted as far back as I could and hopped that this wolf wouldn't be interested enough to walk this far back into the cave. While he was walking around the cave I admired his wolf, he was all black with gold ears and a white cap on his tail.
He walks even farther back into the cave and I knew that he could see me by now. He slowly approached me and He looks me over and when his eyes reach my ankle and nudges my foot with his nose a little. At the sound of my whimper he licked my ankle and then looked into my eyes. I knew in that moment when he looked into my eyes that he was my mate and that he wouldn't harm me. I tentatively reach out to him with my hand and stroke his soft fur. He leans into my touch and licks my face.
The wolf runs at my mate and bites into his tail. My mate howls angrily at the wolf and lunges for his throat, but he turns away and he only catches the side of his stomach. Though the blow was not fatal it did weaken him and slow him down. I watched as they circled each other slowly. Neither of them are going to back down so I watch as each tries to plan an attack. Then all of the sudden my mate leaps at the other wolf and successfully lands the fatal blow to his jugular.
He turns towards me again and turns for me to get onto his back again. I clutch his fur as he flies through the forest in the same direction as we were headed before. He stops once again and I fall off his back. I watch as he walks behind a tree to shift and let me tell you I was shocked at who stepped out from behind it after.
