Catch Her By Her Scent novel Chapter 22

The man that stepped out from behind the tree was Levi. I stared wide eyed at him and he walked over to me with a little smile on his face. He reached over and closed my mouth, which I hadn't realized was open until then.

"Hello my sweet little mate."

I didn't know what to say back so I just continued to stare at him. He chuckled at me then stroked my cheek with the back of his hand.

"You don't have anything to say to your mate my sweet."

"Uhm… I don…. I mean, I can't believe you are my mate." I stuttered my response to him.

"Get used to it sweetheart because I am going to be around for a while, and I don't plan on letting you go."

He smiled at me and hugged me to his side. I sighed in content and leaned into him. This felt really good, but more than that this felt right. I stayed snuggled into his side until I heard him ask me something.

I removed my head from where it was burrowed in his chest and said, "What did you say, I didn't quite catch that?"

"I asked you what your name was sweetheart."

I stared at him in confusion, because he already knew my name. I don't what he was trying to accomplish, unless it was trying to make himself look like an absolute fool.

"You know my name dummy, don't act stupid." I said to him giving him a light shove and giggling a little.

Now he was the one that looked confused, and even concerned. "Uhh, sweetheart are you sure you didn't hit your head, because you never told me your name?"

Now I was really confused, had Levi really forgotten who I was? What if the Rogue King had something to do with this? What if he made Levi forget me? I was really starting to freak out now and I was starting to hyperventilate.

Levi came over to me and started rubbing my back and he set me in his lap rocking me gently in his arms to calm me down.

"Sweetheart please calm down, you are scaring me. What's wrong?" He said with tears brimming his eyes.

"You don't remember me, why don't you remember me? I am just freaking out a little because… well you know me and you're my mate and you don't remember…. I am Sophia, don't you remember."

"I never knew your name honey, but it's nice to finally know the name of my mate." He smiled a little bit at me, but still looked concerned.
