"Jeez and I thought we ate a lot of food." Said one of Jay's younger brothers, I think it was Carter.

"Carter that wasn't polite, apologize to Sophia." Diana said.

"Don't worry about it Diana I love my bacon and I eat a lot of it." I laughed at my own words and so did everyone else.

"Well you'll fit in nicely here, because eating bacon is required in our family practically." Jay's dad said laughing a little under his breath.

"Good because I don't think I would be able to live somewhere where there isn't bacon" I smiled at him.

We ate breakfast in silence until Jay's dad broke the silence with a question all of them had been wondering about. "So Jay and Levi told you about the whole Alpha King situation?"

"Yes they did, but I think it's only because I quilted them into it." I replied with a proud smile.

Then I thought of something that confused me. "I thought that the Alpha King's son, Jeremy, was supposed to be the heir though and Cindy was going to be the beta?"

"Well technically no one was supposed to know so that is what they tell everyone, but Jeremy isn't the Alpha King's real son so he didn't receive the Alpha gene, and plus he didn't want the position. It was a really big secret and his mate was pissed when she found out that he already had a son, but she eventually came to care for Jeremy as if he was her own son. Since Jeremy wasn't his mate's son he didn't receive the gene and he isn't dominant enough to be Alpha King. So the council was forced to look for another wolf to take on the responsibilities. As for Cindy being the beta, that still might happen, it just depends on who is chosen by the council with the input of the Alpha King." Jay answered me.

I nodded my head, but I was still a little confused. "So why was everyone saying that Jeremy was going to be the Alpha King if it wasn't ever going to happen?"

"Well there is still a chance it might happen, but it's really small. If neither Jay not I surpass Jeremy's power or dominance on our birthday then Jeremy will have to become the Alpha King, but like I said before it is a really slim chance that is going to happen."

"You guys are really confident in yourselves aren't you?" I raise my eyebrows at both of them.

"She was the best mother, she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was, well still is my role model." I say getting a little teary eyed myself.

"How did she die? I know she was way too stubborn to die of natural causes."

"My mom and my dad were out patrolling together when the rogue pack attacked them. They surrounded them and completely slaughtered them. It was like they were specifically looking for them. No one else died. No one else was even around. I always wanted to know why they attacked them for no reason. They were good people, they were…." I started to ramble and then Diana came over and hugged me to her and wiped the tears streaming down my face now.

"Did she tell you anything strange or that didn't make sense really before she died." Diana asked searching for something in my eyes, but I just shook my head confused.

Diana sighed and looked out the window for a few moments. She finally looks back at me with a serious expression.
