"But…"

Our clever talk was interrupted by Jimmy. "Well, well lovebirds, what are you two talking about?"

"Look Jimmy!" Lucas yelled and smiled like an idiot as he raised our hands in the air. I knew he was only joking, but that ridiculous face expression was just wrong. Wrong on so many levels. "I am officially in a relationship."

"Great for you Dashwood." Jimmy grinned. "And Skye," He turned to me. "my condolence."

Lucas friendly punched Jimmy in the shoulder.

"Beware, the pretty boy snorts in his sleep like an old grandma!" Jimmy laughed while Lucas punched him again. "Hey, where's Cookie?"

Lucas and I made an awkward eye contact.

"Oh, I see. One of her crazy teenage outburst again. I'll go get her." Jimmy stood up.

"Mr.Kane?" A nurse suddenly stepped out of the office.

"Oh..." Jimmy seemed frustrated. "Yeah, that's me."

"I'll go get her." I said, annoyed. Jimmy can't go, and I'm not letting Lucas to go either. Better safe than sorry.

"She's in the left wing, 3rd floor, room...16, I think. She's probably hanging out with our cousin May."

"Got it." I said as Jimmy disappeared into the room.

"I'll go with you." Lucas stood up.

"No, no, you wait for Jimmy, I'll go find her."

"You sure?"

Hell yes, I'm sure. I'm not letting that little Blondie succubus near my Lucas again. "Yes, I mean if she sees us together, she might..."

"Um, yeah okay, I get it." Lucas smiled and gently pressed his soft lips on my hand.

Which room did Jimmy say? 14, 15...16! I opened the door and saw Cookie sitting on the bed next to some girl with short blond hair. Her hair was really short, if she wouldn't have feminine features on her face, I'd probably mistaken her for a boy.

Cookie turned her head towards me and rolled her eyes. "What are you doing here?" She snapped.

"Your brother sent me." I said, keeping my head calm.

"Where's Lucas?" She smirked. That second I just wanted to...I just wanted to...take that blue pillow on the bed and suffocate her stupid face with it!

"Anorexia Nervosa. Ana for short." She shyly scratched her neck. "I'm May, by the way." She offered me her hand...Her skinny hand, for which I feared it would break like glass if I squeezed it too much.

"Skye." I introduced myself. "How long..."

"On and off, on and off again. Ana is with me for five years now...since I was thirteen, I guess." She shrugged. "Mom took me to the hospital, because I passed out in the bathroom." She bit her lip and looked away.

"You mean, you're only eighteen years old?" I asked surprised.

She laughed. "It's funny what a silly little disease does to a person, isn't it? I know I look way older than I really am." She looked down, towards my hands. She took her thumb and her middle finger and locked them around my left wrist. "Do you have it too?"

"What, anorexia? Um, no, I mean I don't..."

"Denial?" She pierced my eyes with her blue ones.

"Um, no, I eat..." I told the truth. Well, I try too.

"Eat...But not a lot?" She moved her hand away from mine.

"Well, um..."

"Watch out, ana is a sneaky bitch." She lowered her head onto the blue pillow and sadly stared out of the window. "I've been in here so many times...I know every person's name. I know the names of the living, and of...the dead." May furrowed her eyebrows. "You think you can control it, but...it sneaks up on you. When you're not looking. Maybe if I just leave out breakfast...then dinner...then lunch...Before you know it, you're obsessed. You cut your food into tiny pieces, eat for hours, but really, you don't eat a thing." She stared at me. "Sounds familiar?"
