Cold Showers novel Chapter 43

Jayda decided to make one last call to a client before she took her leave. As soon as she ended the call, She was distracted by a knock on her glass-walled door. She looked at her entrance and was surprised to see Sebastian, looking devilishly handsome as always.

Jayda rose to her feet, welcomed him with a hug and a passionate kiss.

"I was actually not expecting you but I'm happy you're here. I thought we would be meeting at the hospital."

Seb caressed her cheek. "I thought so too but changed my mind. It's better we go in one car than different cars. That way, I will spend more time with you."

"You're becoming so clingy." Jayda teased.

Seb shrugged with a shy smile on his face. "I can't help it."

"So, you ready?" He asked, Jayda nodded.

She picked up her handbag and they left for the hospital.

"Are you excited?" Jayda asked Seb even though she could see the excitement all over his face.

"Very excited. I hope my heart doesn't explode with so much happiness." He smiled.

"Thank you for all that you do Sebastian. You are everything I could ever ask for." She said sincerely, looking into his beautiful eyes with so much adoration.

"You have nothing to thank me for." Seb leaned closer to her, placing a long kiss on her forehead.

Soon enough, Doctor Davis walked into the ultrasound room and greeted the duo.

"You look great so I won't ask how you are." She said to Jayda.

She smiled, "I'm fine. He's been taking really good care of us." She pointed at Seb.

"I see." Doctor Davis said. "So, have you noticed anything strange in your body since our last checkup? Your cravings? Morning sickness?"

"Nothing strange. My boobs have been sore lately which I think is normal, and obviously, my bump has grown bigger, which is also normal. I don't have cravings for a particular food or junk food but I think I take more of Ice cream and I try to balance my cravings with healthy food."

"I still experience morning sickness but it's not as bad as it used to be."

Dr Davis nodded, scribbling something down on her chart. She checked Jayda's blood pressure which was normal and then she led her to the scale to weigh herself.

Jayda squirmed when Dr Davis applied some gel on her bump. She actually forgot how cold it used to be.

"Sorry about that." The Doctor smiled while Seb kissed Jayda's hands that were in his. He was seated on a chair beside the ultrasound bed.

Davis placed the wand on Jayda's belly and after a while, an object appeared on the monitor. She explained everything they needed to know.

"And this is your little miracle. She pointed to the monitor.

Seb and Jayda had smiles all over their faces. They noticed the growth in the size of their baby when compared to the last check-up. Sebastian considered himself blessed to witness this moment with the woman he loves most.

After a while of the two lovebirds drooling over their baby on the screen, they were opportune to hear the heartbeat. It was stronger than what Seb could recall during the last check-up but it was still the most wonderful sound he has ever heard.

"Are you both ready to know the gender?" Dr Davis asked the excited soon to be parents.

She handed a white envelope to Sebastian. "Today's ultrasound picture." Then she gave him Jayda's vitamin prescription.

"You can get the vitamins at the pharmacy downstairs."

Seb nodded.

She turned to Jayda. "Continue to eat healthy, stay hydrated, avoid stress, you have my contact; feel free to call me if you need anything or notice anything different or strange."

Then Davis turned to Sebastian. "She needs you now more than ever, continue to take good care of her. Her mood swings will be stepping in very soon so please pamper her as much as you can."

"Don't worry, Doc. They are in safe hands." He assured.

"Then that will be all for today. Your next appointment is the 12th of next month. Congratulations to you two once again."

Doctor Davis hugged Jayda and then Sebastian.

Seb and Jayda proceeded to the pharmacy to get Jayda's vitamins and then they made their way to Seb's car.

As soon as they got into the car, Sebastian leaned against the headrest and exhaled."I can't believe it; A baby girl." He smiled at Jayda.

Jayda chuckled, "My pregnancy just seemed real today! I never thought I'd have a girl for a firstborn but I'm thrilled. She has me, you, Aron and our families to protect her and shower her with so much love. She's blessed." Jayda said as she caressed her bump.

Sebastian placed his hand on Jayda's own which was on her belly. "I love you guys." He said sincerely with so much adoration in his eyes.

Jayda leaned closer to Seb and kissed him. "We love you too babe."
