Dressed into the most expensive dresses women walked gloriously through the red carpet inside the biggest ceremony hall of Washington, The palace.
The name was enough to describe what kind of place it was. White marbles cemented together into a big astounding building with four pillars supporting the massive entrance door on either side gave the paparazzi a good location for their camera.
While the famous celebrities along with the popular business persons were making their way inside the plush entrance door one after another. There was no stopping to the back to back arriving of cars as there stepped outside the invited guests to the third anniversary of the Marshals jewellery.
"Three successful years passed by, and we didn't notice it! I would dedicate this success to our Hard working team of employees and employers who managed to bring us to this position. And also, I am glad to all the competitors out there who made it possible. Without them we could never achieve this. A healthy competition is that where we have fair competitors after all! Thanks to everyone who directly or indirectly gave us a hand in our growth. Much love and care to them"
Mr. Marshall the owner of the Marshall jewellery finished his interview with the most powerful and descriptive speech.
The media can never be satisfied. They always look forward to more and more recipes to help their channel bag the first spot in TRP. But much to their disappointment, Mr. Marshall left at once right after he finished chipping the last word.
Leaving the reporters wanting for more he sprinted within the doors and vanished at once while the crowd of media continued giving their heads up. Inside the party, the crowd swayed lightly on the slow music and chalices of drinks in their palms.
From blue to green there were all colours of clothes worn by the guest. Their jewellery spoke they came from a high class family. "I feel uncomfortable, Payton. Everyone is looking at me." While the other women in the hall enjoyed getting the attention of the male population, Kiara stood out as an exception.
She bit her lips looking heck uneasy as the nasty glares of strange men stayed on her body for more than necessary while. "Kiara, they are looking at you because you have happened to be the most beautiful lady present in the party. Just look at other ladies, they don't look as charming as you." Payton was right.
Kiara looked too gorgeous in an azure off shoulder gown. Her hair were curled from the tips and a beautiful necklace adorned her neck. Lastly, a pretty hand clutch just added to her looks as she really stood out as the most outstanding looking woman in the party.
That remark from Payton shut her mouth. She seemed to be satisfied by his words. Kiara smilingly excused Payton as he was dragged in a group conversation of men. She was all alone yet not alone as her eyes were busy in finding that one and only face.
Raven! Yeah, he was that one and only guy for whom she was waiting.
Almost all the guests arrived but him and his ex-wife, Shania. There was no sign of the two. Kiara was certain that Shania may bring Billy with her. And if her thoughts were anywhere going to be true then she had made her mind that she would definitely meet her son.
Her heart was craving to feel him in her arms. Her motherly embrace yearned him. She was craving for him just like how a pauper misses money!
Minutes passed and Kiara continued standing in the corner of the hall. She was not interested in the party at all. So when a handful of guys approached her for couple dance, as the music was now changed and couples were grooving and shaking their hips on the centre of the hall, Kiara smilingly refused them.
She was not in the mood to dance. Not when her heart was craving the sight of her son and his father!
(thirty minutes later)
The party was in full swing. Music kept changing from jazz to loud the amount of people dancing on the dance floor keep on increasing. The organizer of the party, Mr. Marshall joined the group where Payton was dragged at, and they talked.
Women gasped, some licked their lips while some controlled their increasing heart beats seeing how the two Greek Gods stepped in the party. Last yet to be the best. They indeed graced the party with their occurrence.
"Freak, how can someone be so stupid, Monica just look at him. He is soo gorgeous!" The remark of the same woman brought Kiara to her senses. She was zoned out.
She quickly ran to a corner hiding behind a curtain draped around a pole as decoration. "You are right. He looks handsome even in beard. He changed his look I guess" The second woman said moving her eyes on Raven's body.
Kiara never realized that until she heard her speak. Raven had grown few inches long beard, his eyes looked dizzy and tired. His pink lips didn't look pink at all. They were slightly purple now... And Kiara knew it why?
He must have started smoking. Smoking was the only way how he escaped the truth of life. Even in college, when they had a big fight, obvious because of Payton since he was behind Kiara, they had come to a point where it was almost a break up. That time also he smoked. Smoking in painful times was his old habit.
The party again turned exciting with loud music. The dance floor was once again crowded with couple dancing. The tune was forcing Kiara to join the other and show some of her step. She wanted to go to the floor with her man, her Raven. They were not yet divorced, they were still a couple.
Raven was standing with a cluster of people taking with them. She was soothing her heart by drinking the nectar of his handsome face unless she saw Shania approaching him.
She pulled Raven by the wrist such that he almost collided with her body. Her lips moved near his ear lobe before she dragged in on the dance floor leaving Kiara in tears.
