After that leave Raven never visited his parents' house to see Billy. That Night Kiara cried to herself hugging her son to her chest as she did manage to get him back to herself but his father, she could not get him at all.

He was damn angry on her.

It was justified though.

Kiara can comprehend as to what was holding him back. Firstly, she left them in the hardships and when her guilt was eating her for the blunder she made, she came back.

Although the entire Carter family forgave her there was her husband who was still maintaining distance from her. "Morning uh, m-mom!" Her eyes were red and puffy, Mrs. Carter forced a smile recognizing them.

She must have cried the whole night!

Actually after exiting the court behind Raven, she hugged Billy close to herself not knowing where to go. The home that was supposedly the one Raven had made for his perfect family was not open for her. It was assured right at the moment he dashed out of the court.

And Kiara was so ashamed of going to that house which he created for his family. She can only helplessly stare Payton for help assuming that her in-law may not take her in their house too. But when she was going to go to Payton's car, Mr. Carter held her wrist and stopped her. "You are our daughter in law... I won't appreciate our daughter in law staying with another man. Sit in the car" Kiara didn't know whether to be happy or sad.

She just immediately settled inside the car taking her father in law's words seriously. He never mentioned that, but he was clear that he wanted her back in the family. Although Kiara could not see off Payton properly, she only gave him a good bye smile whilst she let her bundle of joy play with the button of her shirt.

Once they in the house, she realized these guys never stopped loving her! Yeah, Mr. Carter kissed her forehead and Billy's soon after they entered their house. He also shed few tears of happiness saying, "Thank you for coming back. I thought we lost you forever" It only reminded her of her mistake.

No matter what, they happily accepted her just on one condition. And that was- bringing their Raven back who was lost somewhere in the darkness of the past.

"Hey you've been crying?" questioned Mrs. Carter touching Kiara's face.

Her skin was burning with fever. When kiara nodded her head to lie her eyes automatically Welker up watching how her mother in law was examining her neck and forehead. "Ugh, you are in fever. What is wrong with you sweetheart!" She exclaimed dragging kiara towards her room.

On the other hand, Kiara was stunned hearing her call her a sweetheart. She was the best mother in law the nature can give her. So selfless and understanding. She did not even question her about anything. All she said the last night was, "Let the past stay in the past, honey. Struggle to maintain your present with Raven and wait for the beautiful future. There is so much to cherish."

Her words motivated her however, Kiara was too depressed to let her go of her past. She cried and cried and cried throughout the night unless the depression took the shape of fever engulfing her body.

" Lay down... Ley down honey." She carefully covered Kiara with the quilt, she placed Billy away from her in order to prevent him getting her fever.

Kiara felt hurt when Billy was drawn out of her reach. She wanted to cry. And Mrs. Carter who noticed her growing paleness she informed her, "Little babies catch fever quick enough from their mothers. It's for his own good. And you need not worry I will not separate him." She caressed Kiara's cheek.

"Mom what happened? Why you called me so urgently" Raven stumbled between his run towards the couch where her parents were sitting.

He looked real graved like he was given the biggest shock of his life. The real shock it indeed was when his mother dropped him a message that stated,

'Oh Raven, please come home at once. Kiara's fallen sick out of depression. She is burning in fever and the doctor has only asked to keep her tension free to avoid any more sickness.

We both know it's because of your lack of attention on her. Please, just for the sake of Billy come home. He has fallen silent seeing Kiara in bed. I can't let him near her, it is dangerous for his health as he has just woken up from sick bed few months ago.

She cried throughout the other night. Please, come home and attend her. Your anger is understandable dear, but please don't do something that you'd regret later.

Give her a chance, FOR BILLY... FOR US. Come home soon.'

It was a fully fledged message like an email given on WhatsApp.

Raven though each and every carefully, yet he behaved like he hardly read a few sentences. "You sounded so serious on the chats. Everything alright!" speaking emotionlessly Raven asked taking a seat next to his father.

From the inside, he was dying to see her face. Hug her tight and kiss her until she's out of oxygen but the anger was so intense which forced him to keep it hidden within himself. She deserved his thanks but forgiveness.

"Didn't you read my message!" Cocking a brow in suspect, his mother asked.

"No, I didn't have the time. I just... Uh I just read her being sick. That's all." Raven lied.

"Ugh, Rave she is damn guilty of her acts. You both are equal now. You abandoned her, she left you. Now don't you think you need to keep aside your ego" It was supposed to be said in order to make him realize his mistake but it only enraged him.

Raven sarcastically laughed, his eyes growing red and dark with forming tears. "You call this ego, mom? Like seriously?" He got up from the seat taking steps in the backward direction as he still stared at his parents. "Leaving me before my son's custody case was justified! Letting him go his psycho mother was justified! Hurting both of us with her pathetic words was justified!" He gulped his saliva feeling suffocated.

He came here with the sole motive of meeting her. After reading his mother's message over and over again, he ultimately changed his mind and decided to see her. But surprisingly, something else was waiting for him in the house.

"Hold on, Rave. Just hold on" His father tried to clutch his arm and seize his movements, Raven only showed him a palm moving backwards.

"You don't see my pain... You don't! The joy of getting your grandchild has blinded you so much that you can't see what damage has she done to both of us in the past." Raven spoke turning around to leave.

He was on the doorstep when a loud cry of Billy echoed in the hall, and he panicked. "Billy" His mind blanked. He can't think of anything but run to the room where it came- his fake wife's room!

CHAPTER 55 How can I not believe that nothing happened!

"I will not refuse I was impressed by his efforts. Every day, he did something new for me but all I can do was smile and turn him down. I swear every time he did something new my heart only reminded me of you. I can't get over the love you gave me. I know you think I am changed... I really am... But trust me, I never stopped loving you. I was... I was possessed by anger." Kiara whispered, her lips trembled feeling his burning gaze on her face.

Her dread grew more when Billy went down of the bed to play with toys in the corner of the room. She was somewhere happy though as there was no obstacle between her and him.

"I was crazy and wanted to seek a revenge on you but Raven... Keep yourself in my place and think... Think that if after dumping you in college I had met you just for the sake of my son who was from the man you hated, how had you felt? You would have killed both me and my son out of your fury. I just wished to do the same but I couldn't. (pause) Right after a day of running away from your house- our house, I regretted everything I did. I swear I do regret yet." She was not yet done with her words when Raven clutched the back of her neck pulling their faces closer.

Their breaths mingled with their eyes gazing each other. His eyes were intensely ripping through her soul while her soft and scared ones watched the blood vessels that were visible in his eyes. He gritted his teeth while Kiara grasped as their lips almost brushed.

"You were angry right, you could have killed me. I hadn't minded getting murdered either. You could have ripped my chest and pulled my heart then chopping it into pieces. If that was not hard then you could have simply burned me alive Kiara... Why Billy? Why Billy though!" Suddenly his grip around the back of her heck loosened.

Raven's head fell on her shoulder as his arm slowly pulled her into him. "You shattered me totally, that night. I don't think I'd have ever cried like that in my whole life. Not even when I lost my daughter." There was hurt, immense hurt dripping from every word Raven spoke. "I am not angry on you... I can never be Kiara. And clearly your doubts, even after doing so much wrong I never stopped loving you. You want to know why? Because you brought my son back to life. That was you why I can see my son smiling... That was you why he smiled... That was You, why he recovered. You can still punish me if you want but, leaving my son to die was the stupidest revenge you played to hurt me." He stopped, letting her go with a grunt Raven hit his fist on the mattress. He was sobbing now.

"I am sorry... Please forgive me." She whispered sobbing as well.

Nevertheless, his words spoken next, perplexed her to no extent. "how can I forget you Kiara when I know you spent months in another man's house."

"Raven! You are doubting me" She can say it loudly at all even though he was doubting her loyalty.

"How can I not believe that nothing happened between the two of you ever?" he sarcastically stated, hurting her.

"Alright, go ahead, undress me and see if I cheated on you or not" She was confident alas, he only took it in the wrong way.

"Sorry, I don't do bitches... At least that's what you are for me now." Kiara stilled in the bed, her eyes never leaving the sight of his face. "He is a fool, Kiara Diaz... Not me! Not me." Raven hushed near her lips before he walked out of the room leaving Kiara shocked and surprised.

This was the second time she saw him jealous like that! Still, she forced her lips to smile and adored Billy playing with teddy. The first time it had happened in the college when a guy took her on the dance floor to dance during their second year's party. Her only mistake was that she let him hush something near her ear.

He was so angry... So fucking angry that he left the party at once. When she went to look for him and thankfully found him sitting in the garden grumbling to himself, she approached him. But he was so angered that he almost killed her by kissing her roughly in the college's garden being jealous and also called her a bitch.

"So the reason behind your cold behaviour is jealousy not the anger. I should have known that." Kiara smiled as something struck her mind determining that-
