"I have arrived!" I shouted with my arms out wide and a grin on my face.

"Jay!" She hissed, "can't you see I'm on the phone?!" I looked at her then I saw the phone in her hands, I made an 'O' shape with my mouth.

"Sorry," I apologised but I didn't leave I just sat down in a chair opposite her, making myself comfortable. Penny gave me a funny look but I just waved my hand signalling for her to carry on with her conversation.

She shook her head, "I'm sorry for the interruption that was my beta Jay." At the mention of my name I smiled. I tried to listen in on the conversation but I could hear what the person on the other end of the line was saying, it was very frustrating.

I looked at my nails and examined the ends of my hair waiting for Penny to finish her phone call, when she was done I heard her sigh.

"Stressful phone call?" I asked concerned.

"You could say that," she sighed again, then looked me in the eyes. I saw guilt shimmer in her eyes. What could she possibly be guilty for?

"Pen, are you okay?"

"I don't know Jay, I don't know." She rested her head in her hands.

"Come on you can tell me I'm your beta after all, and your friend." I said reassuringly.

"Just please don't be mad." I nodded, "that was another pack alpha on the phone. You know that we were attacked by rouges the other day, well we weren't the only pack that was ambushed." She paused looking at me, I nodded for her to carry on. "Well, that pack suffered greatly, they have lost many of their members and they were asking us to help them."

"I don't see how that is a problem, they are a pack in need and that is what we stand for we help and protect others." I said confused.

"I wasn't finished yet. That pack that called also happened to be your old pack." Penny looked at me once she finished with concern. I didn't blame her for being cautious when telling me it was them. But I kept my cool.

"And?" I persisted.

Every couple of hours or so the triplets would try to get me out of my room and do something other than sulk around my room, but I refused. I was preparing for myself for their arrival, I need to be strong, I need to hold my head up high and show them that I'm not a scared little girl anymore, I am a strong wolf.

Outside the moon was now high in the sky giving light to all those still out in the night. I stared at the moon captivated by its beauty, so free in the sky watching over everyone whilst they slept, not a care in the world. If only I could live a life like that, not having to worry about war, the safety of my pack or myself. Wouldn't life be great?

I reluctantly change into some pyjama shorts and a tank top then climb into bed. I cleared my mind forgetting everything. My last thought before I feel asleep was that I'd be seeing Cameron, my mate tomorrow.

"Psst, Jay."

"Jay."

"Yo, Jay wake up!" Someone shouted. I sprang out of bed ready to face my attackers only to find Jake bending over laughing his head off.
