"What are 'Primes'?" I asked before Holly carried on.
"A 'Prime' is what Jay is a powerful being. Can I continue?"
"Oh I'm sorry, continue."
"As I was about to say just like the power the gender of the Prime varied as well, it doesn't say how the gender was picked. I guess it's just like picking a name out of a hat." She turned over the page. "The power would only reveal it's self once the Prime had found their mate and once it has been revealed it only fade with death. In these cases they all accepted each other and their full powers were accessed or enhanced. Now fortunately in Jay's situation it has some knowledge into what happens if a mate rejects their mate being the Prime or not."
"Jay wouldn't be able to access her full powers?"
"You would've thought that but that's not the only thing that would happen. All of the Primes are from the same family, so Jay's ancestors were Primes well some of them were anyway. Cameron rejected Jay so they she won't be able to produce any offspring, therefore there will be no more Primes and if that happens there will be no one in the close or distant future to protect us. This leads me onto my next point. The only way for Jay to enhance her powers is to bear the mark of her mate and for them to have fully mated."
"I was never told any of this when the elders told me I had to keep an eye on her. They told me that she was the key to this war but they didn't how. When she shifted for the first time and she first used fire I went straight for the books but I had no idea what I was looking for."
"The elders should've told you what Jay was and some background information in my opinion so you wouldn't have been so in the dark about it."
"Thank you Holly." I smiled. "When Jay hears about this she is not going to be happy about it."
Holly laughed. "Oh I know, if only we could see her face when that happens." My laughter soon joined in with Holly's echoing around the library.

"That's not going to happen." I scoffed.
"As we have already discussed you don't really have a choice. If you refuse to help me your friends and family will be killed." I scowled. "Look I'm not telling you that you have to do it now you have plenty of time before it all starts but I suggest that you do it sooner rather than later." Without another word Seb got up and exited the room leaving Cameron and I in an awkward silence.
Why did this have to be my life? Why couldn't I just be a normal wolf with a normal family, a normal pack and a normal mate? A mate that would've accepted me without a second thought and did it because he wanted to. Why couldn't I have all of those things? Don't get me wrong I love my life now, I have an amazing pack, amazing friends and I've managed to have a relatively normal life apart from being who I am. But have you ever had those thoughts where you wished your life turned out differently? I've never thought about that until now.
"Jay?" Cameron's voice was soft. "Are you okay?" I ignored him but thought about his question. Am I okay? No, no I'm not.
"No I'm not okay." I burst jumping up and started pacing. "I'm being forced to mate with you just so a bunch of rouges can use my power! I'm being forced to mate with my mate that rejected me because I wasn't perfect, I didn't fit in with the crowd and I didn't fit in with the pack." I stopped and turned to face a shocked Cameron. "How do you think I'm supposed to feel? So far my life has been planned out by someone else. I want control over my own life. My innocence is the only thing that I have left. And you're not having it!" I was breathing heavily after my outburst. I must say though I feel much better after letting all of my anger out.
