"Got it, Luella." Ebony Fox waved goodbye to the others while supporting Kurt, and the two left first.
Shanley had shared a few drinks with Jimmie. He was a bit buzzed, but he held his liquor infinitely better than Kurt and remained completely clear-headed the entire night.
"My grandmother wants to see me, so we'll be heading out too."
Juniper stood with her hands buried in her pockets, her face half-hidden by her coat collar. Her massive, round eyes peeked out, making her look ridiculously adorable.
She glanced at Coralie, whose cheeks were flushed and who clearly wasn't completely sober. "Has Coralie's bodyguard gone back yet?"
"Not yet."
Ebony Fox lifted her eyelids, gesturing with her chin. "He's been waiting in the car this whole time. Didn't eat or drink a thing. The guy has insane patience."
Juniper glanced outside and, sure enough, spotted the black sports car parked under the streetlamp.
"It's freezing out there. You two hurry up and get in the car," Luella urged, pulling her coat tighter around herself. "I already texted Channing. He's on his way up. I'll stay here with Coralie."
"Alright."
Juniper didn't say anything more and followed Shanley out.
After a few steps, they crossed paths with Channing, who was hurrying toward them.
The man offered a respectful nod. "Ms. Payne, Mr. Schwartz."
"Coralie had a bit too much to drink. Make sure you get her some hangover soup."
Channing glanced past them at Coralie, who was leaning against the wall, giggling foolishly at him.
Yeah.
She definitely looked drunk.
"Understood, Ms. Payne. I'll take good care of her."
After giving his word, Channing quickened his pace to reach Coralie's side.
"Channing—"
The moment she saw him, Coralie threw her arms wide open and practically leaped at him.
"I'm here."
Channing instantly wrapped his arms around her tightly, supporting her weight as he nodded to Luella and Jimmie.
"Uh, yeah, take her back to the hotel. Drive safe," Luella said, rubbing her nose with a forced smile.
"I will."
