"Congratulations everyone! You have all officially graduated!"
Upon hearing those words made me ecstatic. I looked at my best friends, grinning from ear to ear.
Whilst I tried to find my parents, I walked past a lot of people that had similar big grins plastered on their faces. The atmosphere had changed, it was nervousness at first but now it is full of happiness.
I kept on walking til I've found them. Excitement was seeping through my skin. I couldn't help myself as I started skipping.
'There they are!' I thought to myself. 'I finally found them.'
I saw my parents from the distance, waving at me and I waved back like a lunatic, still grinning like a Cheshire cat, proud to be the Valedictorian of our school... but suddenly my vision was blocked by a tall, masculine guy.
I took in a sharp breath. My mind raced, thinking of different scenarios.
Is this the part where I die just as I'm about to celebrate? Or is this where I meet my one, true love?
I was devastated yet relieved to find something different from the scenarios running through my head.
When I looked up, I found someone very familiar standing in front of me. I didn't think that it was true.
It was Zac Efron!
Zac freakin' Efron!
He was looking down at me with those, oh so, dazzling eyes.
He smiled and my heart melted at the warmth of his smile. His perfectly straight and white teeth was on full display.
Wow. Oh gosh, oh gosh! What am I going to do? I started to panic - looking around me. The place was closing in on us. But everyone was gone. I was left with Zac Efron. I could almost taste the sweetness of his cologne.
"Hey Kath! Congratulations! Look there's just something I've been meaning to tell you... I... Lo..."
RINGGGG RINGGGG RINGGGG
"Uhhhh!" I groaned.
The sun was sneakily seeping through the curtains, blinding me. I hissed and jumped up, fully closing it.
I walked back to my bed, hunched back and sat down.
What was that? Seriously, I was just getting to the good part!
I rolled my eyes, sitting up to look for my phone so I could check the time. I felt underneath my pillow for my phone and took it out - 7
30AM. I calculated how much time I have left to get ready. Eh, I still have like an hour to get ready, I can manage.
I laid back down and imagined if my dream actually happened. What would I say back to Zac? Was I going to tell him I liked him too? I groaned to my pillow yet again. Why am I even thinking about this? I laughed at myself and stared at the white ceiling. If someone walked in right now, they would probably send me to a mental hospital.
"Kathy! How many times do I have to tell you, that is so not lady-like!" My mum joked around.
"Oh please mum, you know I'm not like that and I'm never going to be like that," I winked at her, sucking my finger smothered in chocolate.
"Well it doesn't hurt to try, darling."
"Yeah, yeah you always say that," I chuckled. "Anyway," I said changing the subject, "can I please borrow your car today?"
She shook her head, "You have your own car, just use that. Plus I have work at noon til midnight."
"Aw! Fineee," I pouted. "Well I better get ready or else I'm going to be late for the first day of my senior year! I still have to pick Sophie and Ella up too."
For some unknown reason I felt like using her car but I liked mine too anyway, so I didn't bother begging.
After finishing my breakfast, I ran up the stairs and tripped a couple of times. I swore at the stairs for being stupidly steep. Well, for me because I'm Clumsy Kathy.
I did my "school-day" routine. Brushed my teeth, showered, got dressed, brushed my hair, put a pair of earrings on and my favorite white watch.
Looking at my reflection on my mirror, I was pretty contented. I wore my skinny jeans, a singlet and a flannel that went around my waist.
Sometimes I wish to be like Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner but then I also love being my simple self.
After feeling that I've stared at myself in the mirror long enough, I shuffled through my drawer to find a pair of socks that actually matched.
