Evan's P. O. V.

I have nothing to worry about. Mike doesn't scare me. Still, I didn't like that he was after the same girl I was into. Whatever happened to the bros before hoes thing?

Either way, Annie is mine and he can't have her. I have decided.

I sat on the bench outside the cafeteria and waited for her. The girl is always late.

"Evan, I need to talk to you," someone said. It was Lily. What does she want now?

"What's up?" I asked.

"I heard a rumor that you are into Annie, is that true?" she asked.

"It's not a rumor, I AM into her. Is that all?" I narrowed my eyes.

"I also know that Mike likes her too. So I am here to tell you that you should forget about her and go out with me instead. I like you a lot, Evan," Lily said and moved closer to me.

"How do you know Mike likes her? Did he tell you?" I said irritably. Is he going around telling the whole school?

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you and I would make a great pair. And before you say I like you because of your looks and money, you are wrong. I don't care about any of that. I care about you," she said quietly.

"Is that right," I said distractedly.

"Yes. And I'm sorry for calling her a dork. I'm not a bad person. I was just jealous of her," Lily said.

I looked at her with surprise. This was a new attitude I didn't know Lily could possess.

"Don't worry about it," I said.

"Then what do you say? How about giving us a chance?" Lily said and trailed her fingers on my arm.

I've always liked Lily. She is smart and sexy. Sure, she acts like a snooty bitch sometimes but we all have our faults. But Annie is something special. Her sweet personality and rare beauty made my heart flutter.

"I'm sorry I can't. I want Annie," I shook my head.

Lily sighed. "Fine I'll drop it for now but let me know if you change your mind," she said.

I won't change my mind.

"Oh hey," Lily suddenly said, looking behind me.

I turned around to see Annie. She was finally here.

"I guess that's my cue. Think about what we talked about," she said and left.

"Hi," Annie said meekly. Her face was dark.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. What were you and Lily talking about?" she asked. Her voice was barely audible. Is she jealous again?

Annie's P. O. V.

I kept thinking about what Mike told me last night. I couldn't sleep at all because of it. I wondered if I should tell Evan that he kissed me. Even though Evan and I are not together, I still felt guilty. I headed to lunch outside where Evan and I usually sit.

I had trouble opening my locker so I was running a little late.

"Annie, hold on," Mike called me so I halted.

"What makes you think he won't do the same?" Evan challenged.

"He won't! He is nice and he said he likes me. I think he is serious about me," I looked down.

"You can't go out with him!" Evan cried.

"Excuse me? Why can't I?" I said. He has no right to stop me!

"Because I won't let you!" Evan growled and grabbed me by my shoulder then pulled me closer to him. "You are mine," he leaned over and whispered in my ears.

"You are doing it again, you think you can order me around like I'm your puppet. Well, I made a decision and...And you can't stop me! Besides, it's just one date to see if I even like him like that," I said and tried to wiggle out of his grasp.

"I'm done being the nice guy little hamster. Mike can't have you and that's that," he leaned down and pressed his lips on my neck and bit it.

"Ouch! Evan! What are you doing?" I whimpered. How did he turn back to his old aggressive self? Just because I said I want to go out with Mike?

I couldn't free myself as he had his arms wrapped around me tightly. His mouth on the crook of my neck sucking and biting away.

"Please, stop acting crazy! I'm not yours to play with," I pleaded but he wasn't listening. He looked up after a minute. His eyes were dark and full of anger.

"No one will have you, little hamster. I marked you," he glared and touched the tender spot he bruised. I winced as it hurt.

"Why are you acting like this," my eyes were starting to water.

His eyes softened. "I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to hurt you," he said.

"Well, you did!" I pushed him off and ran away.
