Annie's P.O.V.

I've my met grandmother once. She lived in a different state and the relationship between my mother and my grandmother was nonexistent. She hardly ever talked about her except for the times she wanted to complain. From what I heard she was a strict woman and kept my mother under lock and key until she turned 18. After that, my mother left the house and never looked back.

I heard she was rich as she was married to my grandfather who was a powerful man. He left all of his money to his widow.

I wondered what would she say if I contact her and ask her to let me stay with her. Would she turn me away? Is she also abusive like my mother? All of these questions circulated in my brain. After a few phone calls, Evan's mom was finally able to reach her, my grandmother Annette Fisher.

To my surprise, she agreed to come see me and talk about the situation. I didn't know what Stacy did to convince her but I was grateful for her efforts. No one ever cared about me enough to go through all this trouble.

"Don't look so scared, I am sure she is a perfectly nice woman," Stacy said. She didn't sound too convinced herself. Most likely because she saw how my mother was. What if my grandma was even worse than my mother?

Mike and Lily had already left so Evan and I went back to his house.

"I have to go back to work. Are you two going to be okay?" Stacy asked.

I nodded. I probably won't sleep all night and think about the visit from my grandmother next week. Stacy kissed me on the cheek and left.

Evan suddenly grabbed me and lift me up. "Hey! What are you doing?" I exclaimed. He is so unpredictable.

"I am taking you to your room," he said.

"I am blind but my legs still work!" I cried.

"This is faster," he said and carried me to my room and pushed me down on the bed. He laid on top of me and wrapped me in a hug so tight that I couldn't move an inch.

"Evan! You are smothering me," I said.

"I don't care," he mumbled with his face buried in my neck.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"What's wrong is that you are trying to leave me. Why won't you stay with me and my mom? Don't you like me at all? I am sorry for being a jerk to you, I promise I can change," he said.

I smiled despite everything. "Of course I like you, but..."

"But what?" he asked and let go of me and flopped down next to me. "Don't give me that bullshit about how you are being a burden to us. Neither mom nor I think of you as a burden."

"I know. But it's not your mom's job to take care of me. I didn't mean for her to get involved in my mess. A relative of mine should take responsibility for me," I said.

"Evan..."

"Fuck off," he said. His voice was thick with emotions. Me leaving bothered him this much? I couldn't help but smile.

"Evan I need to go to the bathroom," I lied so he would be forced to look at me.

"Then go," he said gruffly.

"I can't... I need your help!" I whined.

"Why don't you ask your precious grandma since you wanna live with her so bad?" he barked.

"Stop being stupid, she is in a different state!" I giggled.

He sat up and grabbed my hand. "Fine, let's go," he said and tried to get out of the bed but I grabbed his shirt and pulled him towards me. I grabbed the back of his head and smashed my lips on his and kissed him as hard as I could.

He grabbed my shoulders then pushed me against the bed, breaking our kiss. "You won't even let me be mad at you? You really are punishing me," he said in a shaky voice and kissed me back.
