Mike's P. O. V.

"Mike? What are you doing here?" Annie asked.

"We are on a vaca...wait a minute!" I stopped talking as I realized something. "You can see me!"

Annie smiled shyly. "Yes...um...my grandmother found a hospital that could do a correction surgery. My vision isn't entirely perfect but I can see fine with contact lenses. Apparently, it could've been corrected a while ago but my mom never bothered to find out," she said bitterly.

"Holy shit," I murmured. I imagined Evan's reaction when he sees her. I couldn't imagine Lily being too happy about it.

"Mike?" she asked.

"Oh sorry, I am still in shock. I thought I'd never see you again," I said and hugged her. She didn't protest and hugged me back. It felt so good to hold her in my arms. "I still think about you sometimes," I whispered.

"What the fuck is going on here?"

I released her as I heard Evan's voice. Annie had her back turned as we hugged so he didn't see her at first. His eyes turned wide and his mouth gaped open as she turned around and looked at him.

"A...Annie?" his voice shook. He stood there staring at us like he was frozen.

"Oh my god! It's you!" Lily cried and ran towards Annie. Phew...I was expecting her to be angry but she was hugging her. But how long will this friendliness last?

"I was just taking a walk by the ocean," Annie said awkwardly.

"You alright man? You look like you've seen a ghost." I chuckled to lighten the mood.

"I...little hamster is that you?" he said and extended his arms.

Annie burst into tears and ran into his embrace. I looked at Lily to make sure she was alright. Sadness enveloped her face but she didn't look angry but I felt bad for her. I hoped Evan doesn't hurt her too much.

Evan held on to Annie as his life depended on it. That poor bastard never got over her. But I couldn't let him do this to Lily. I knew she was in love with him too even though she agreed to become a friend with benefit. She was hoping to change his mind.

My old feelings for Annie also resurfaced as soon as I held her in my arms.

Things are about to get very complicated.

Annie's P.O.V.

I couldn't help it. As soon as I saw him and heard his voice, I jumped into his arms. As if it hasn't been a whole year since the last time I saw him. The familiar scent of his cologne made me feel safe. His warmth spread through my body.

"It is you, it really is you," he whispered.

"You never said goodbye," I sobbed. I am still angry at him. No...I am furious!

"I can see again," I smiled.

"Oh my god! No way!" Lily screeched.

"Wow...Annie. I don't know what to say," his voice was thick with emotion.

"I should go," I said. I didn't want to let him see how sad and jealous I was about him and Lily.

"Hell no, you are staying with us," Mike declared.

"I can't right now...grandma is expecting me home soon," I said hesitantly.

"But you will come back and hang out with us right? We will be here for a few days. Please, Annie, it's been too long," Mike held my hand and looked at me tenderly.

"Okay," I looked down and said. "I will give you guys my number. We can hang out tomorrow," I smiled reassuringly.

Evan grabbed my arm and made me turn to him. "You promise?" his voice was deep and husky as he stared at me intensely. Those piercing blue eyes still made my heart flutter. How will I manage to stay close to him knowing that he wasn't mine anymore?

"I'll come back tomorrow," I said. Although I wasn't sure if I wanted to anymore. What if he held and kissed Lily in front of me? Would I be able to endure it? God...I wish I was blind again.
