---- Aurora's POV ----
I ran out of the mall as quick as my legs could take me. I needed to get as far away from him and his hurtful words that I even forgot that I was in the company of Emma. We ran down the street and my body unconsciously took me to the park where I use to play with dad. I walked up to the swings and sat there, my head hanging low. Just like my self-esteem. Emma sat on the swing right next to mine.
"Don't cry Aurora... I'm sure he didn't mean it." Rhea as usual, tried to cheer me up.
"Are you gonna explain what happened back there?" Emma asked but I shook my head.
"Is there something I'm missing here Rors? Ever since that party you've been acting strange lately. What's going on between you and alpha Wolfgang?" She asked. I was about to shake my head, but she got up from the swing and stood before me, hands on her hips
"Don't you dare say nothing. I know there is something going on. You've been off Rory and I'm starting to worry here." I could see the concern in my friends eyes that I felt the urge to tell her everything, but I bit my lips. I wouldn't put her in danger. I couldn't.
"Do you..." she started to speak, and I began to panic. Did she figure it out? "Do you have a crush on the alpha Aurora?" She spoke and I instantly let a breath of air out that I didn't even know I had, my body relaxing immediately.
"I..." I began to speak as I rubbed my arm, the chilly night already seeping in. I could tell her the partial truth, right? "I do Em." I told her as I covered my face in embarrassment. This was the first time I actually said that I really loved him. Sure, I've thought about it, but to say it out loud confirmed it all.
I felt Emma pull me out of the swing and held me tight in her arms.
"Aaw Rors. You should have told me before." She let me go but still held me at arm's length. "Is it requited?" She asked making me lower my head in shame before I shook it.
"No. And it never will be Em. I just have to face it and let go." I told her and I could feel a fresh batch of tears ready to fall forming at the corner of my eyes.
"No aurora! Don't give up!" Rhea shouted in my head.
"No! Don't give up just yet Rory! I mean. Maybe he isn't your mate, but don't give up just yet. Who knows? Maybe his head is too deep into ruling the pack that he hasn't notice you, but what if you guys hit it off?" She said with a bright smile.
"I highly doubt it Em" I smiled back. "I gotta get going." I told her as I started to walk off to the mansions direction.
"I'll call you tonight okay? And don't worry." Emma shouted to me as I waved goodbye to her. I walked back to the mansion, my head low remembering over and over Wolfgang's words. Yeah, I'm sure Tallulah would make a perfect mate for him. Not like me, a nobody.
I greeted the guards who stood guard at the door and was gonna head straight to my room and lock myself for the day, but Aspen happened to be passing by and stopped me.
"Hey Rory. How was your day off?" She asked me as she came walking up to me.
"It was great." I lied. It wasn't as I expected it'd be. After the restless night I had the day before, I got up and got ready, hoping to spend the day with Montana watching movies, chatting or even running in our wolf form, but by the time I got home, she was already leaving. They had called her last minute to inspect some area.
Thankfully Emma came by, so we decided to go check a movie and then just walked around the mall. It felt like it had been so long since we did things like these. But then I had to bump into him. What was he even doing at the mall.
"I don't have time for foolish antics such as commitment, and much less to an omega such as her. If I'd choose my Luna, it'd be someone worthwhile like Tallulah." His words kept ringing in my head over and over again.
"Max told me he and Wolfgang ran into you. I'm sorry you heard those hurtful things. Are you sure you're okay?" Aspen asked again, her brows knitted together.
"Sure. Why wouldn't I?" I tried smiling to see if I could convince her that I was fine. The last thing I needed was more pity. "I'm gonna head to my room now, I'm really tired.
"Um. Sure. "Night Rory." She said to me, but I could see that she was hesitant to leave me alone.
"Goodnight Aspen. See you tomorrow." I waved her off before heading up the stairs.
I reached the fourth floor. Exhaustion taking over quickly since I didn't close my eyes last night. I really didn't feel hungry, so I decided I'd take a bath and call it a night. Hopefully tonight I might get some rest.
"Flirting? When have I flirted with Tallulah?" He asked me, arms crossing over his enormous chest.
"All of the time. She always has her hands all over you and I just have to sit aside and watch it all. This is driving me crazy! If you don't have any interest in me, please reject me and allow me to carry on with my life!" I shouted at him staying out of breath. It's a good thing we were all the way up on the fourth floor because someone could have heard everything.
A warm touch shocked me as I felt his hand caress my cheeks. His fingers wiping away tears I didn't even know I had shed. He kept coming closer, closing the gap between us. I kept backing up but found myself against my room door.
I could feel his minty breath fan on my skin. His baby blue eyes shining as he stared at my own. Then, without warning, he closed the gap between us as his lips took over mine. Shock was quickly replaced with want as I followed into his kiss. Desire winning over sanity. I could feel sparks erupt from all over the places our skins touched. This was the mates pull. This is what it caused. That the feel of your mates body cause electric sparks to course through your body.
But just as sudden as it started, it stopped. He backed away just a couple of inches. His eyes set on my eyes.
"I'm the alpha here Aurora. I'll decide when I'll reject you. And if I feel like parading around with Tallulah in front of you, I will. You have no say in anything until I say so." He said to me. That stoic expression plastered once more on his face.
"You have two days off taking away from this week on. Next time be back here on time." He said before walking off pass me and locking himself in his room.
I managed somehow to reincorporate myself and walked into my room. I closed the door and that's when everything that has happen in the last eight days hit like a sack of bricks.
I couldn't control the sobs that escaped my mouth as I slid down the door and cradled my head in my knees.
"Don't cry Aurora. Please. Everything will be alright. Don't cry." Rhea tried to cheer me, but I ignored her and just kept crying and crying, wondering why was I destined to this. What had I done wrong in my past life that the moon goddess had punished me this way?
I cried and cried until I fell asleep right next to the door on the room floor.
"Why is this happening to me..."
