---- Wolfgang's POV ----

I sat in the waiting area thinking over and over on Max's words.

"Look at all the pain you put her through!! She does not deserve it!... She was almost killed by that bastard! You failed to protect her!... You either reject her or don't bother looking for her ever again." Great. Now and being lectured by a manwhore. But he was right. As her mate I should have sworn to protect her, yet I gave her my back. I pushed her away and now she...

I hung my head low as I grip my hair. How can I be considered an alpha when I failed to take care of my soulmate.

And all because of my ego.

"Alpha Wolfgang. You're here." I looked up and found the elders walking over to me.

"Is something wrong elder Radolf?" I asked as I stood to face them.

"Nothing at all alpha. We are here to welcome the Luna back. We heard that she has awaken. How is she?" Elder Radolf asked.

"I... I haven't seen her yet sir." I replied as I looked down at my feet.

"What do you mean you haven't seen her alpha. She is your mate. The Luna. You can't leave her alone when she needs you the most to recover properly." Elder Leto scolded.

"That's right. And from what I've heard, it's a miracle she came back to us alive. They say the wounds she had were very deep, not to mention that she had wolfsbane in her system." Elder Radolf commented. "She has proven to be the right Luna for the pack, facing that rogue on her own. What a brave and courageous girl."

I couldn't help but smile at the praises the elders had for Aurora. Indeed she was brave and courageous for going through all that on her own. She really was a strong girl and the perfect guardian for the pack, but my conceited self never allowed me to see beyond the maid I refused to accept as my mate.

"Well, we won't do much standing here. We must see the Luna at once. Come on now alpha Wolfgang. We must begin preparations for her presentation to the pack." Elder Radolf said as he walked pass me over to Aurora's room, but I stopped them.

That's right. I had forgotten about that. Being the alpha's mate, she has to be officially presented as the Luna of our pack. "No, let me break it for her first. Then you three can come in."

I feared entering her room, but I eagerly wanted to see her, so I filled myself with courage and marched into the direction of the room she was placed into.

---- Aurora's POV ----

"Beta Max, you don't have to do that. I am perfectly capable of cutting my own apples" I told the beta who was clumsily hacking at a poor innocent apple.

"No. You are the patient and you are sick. I can handle this" He said as he continued to massacre the fruit.

Right then we heard a knock on the door. I'm sure Max knew who it was before I did because he let out a sigh in frustration.

I saw Rhea raise her head from the lying position she was in my subconscious, one ear stood high in the air. She sniffed and jumped up excited.

"Cronnos! Cronnos is here Aurora!!" She jumped up and down excited.

"I'll get it." He said as he handed the slices of apple over to me and headed to the room door. When he opened it, it was none other than Wolfgang.

"What do you want alpha?" Max growled at him. I was surprise to feel the hostility in his words as he addressed our alpha.

"Can I have a word with Aurora?" He said to Max with a calm but yet authoritative voice.

"Whatever you have to say to her, you can do it with me here, cause I'm not moving." Max snarled.

"I am your alpha Maximus and I'm giving you a direct order." Wolfgang retorted.

"Seemed more like a request than an order to me, alpha. I will not leave her side." Max answered back.

They both stood before one and another glaring at each other. For a moment I thought they'd start to fight but there was a second knock on the door, distracting them both momentarily.

As the door swung open, I saw the three elders from the pack walk into the room.

"Wait!" I shouted turning everyone's attention on me. I hadn't even notice when I got out of bed and stood facing all of them.

"So... You never intended to save me?" I asked all five men who stood before me.

Wolfgang let go of Max and tried to come over to me, but I backed away.

"No! D... Don't touch me!" Tears were falling down my cheeks as I tried to keep my emotions at bay. I didn't want them to see me cry.

"You all were ready to leave me in the hands of... Of..." The words got caught up in my mouth recalling once more the sickening feeling of Klaus touch. I hung my head low as realization crept in. "I was right from the start. That's why I had to save myself." I spoke barely above a whisper. "Cause none of you were gonna do it." I looked up at them and said through gritted teeth.

"Aurora..." One of the elders tried to talk but I wouldn't allow it.

"No!! You don't have any idea of what I had to go through! You don't have any idea of how scared I was!" I choked on a sob. "And now... You all stand here in all your glory, praising me and calling me your Luna, when four fucking days ago I didn't even exist for any of you bastards!" I shouted. By now I was sure the entire hospital was aware of the scene going on in one of their rooms.

They all stood silently as they watched me crying myself like I never did before. I desperately tried to wipe the tears that streamed down my cheeks, but they kept coming. They just wouldn't stop.

"Aurora..." Wolfgang finally broke the silence and I felt as he walked up to me. I raised my head in time to find him stretching his hand out to comfort me, but I didn't allow him.

"Reject me!" I growled at him.

"No Aurora! What are you doing?!" Rhea shouted in my mind, but I ignored her.

"Reject me now and mark me as a rogue. I don't care..." I continued.

"Aurora don't!" Max tried to ease me, but I couldn't.

"I'd rather be a wolf without a pack than become your stupid Luna."
