--- Aurora's POV ---
I've been running for the past hour now, dodging and rounding trees, trying to get away from those hunters. I've been trying to get back to the pack house and warn them but I can't get through these bastards and I can't manage to mind link anyone since I'm not in wolf form, but I can't do that. My white wolf would be an easy target.
Damn it. If I had been crowned Luna by now, I could reach to every pack member if needed without needing to shift.
Somehow the humans have created a barrier that has the gun shot sounds muffled and no wolf so far had been able to hear them. If they did, by now they'd be swarming the entire forest. This had to be the work of a witch, but how did they even manage to get one of them to cooperate with them?
I've sniffed out nine in total, including that Wendell guy and Tallulah.
That bitch! I can't believe she's working with them. That's why they knew our weak spots. That's why they were able to get through our borders and kidnaped our warriors and seekers undetected. That awful bitch was helping them!
"Now, now Aurora. It's useless to run away from us! There's no way for you to hide and we won't let you get back to alert that lousy pack of yours!" Wendell shouted from a distance.
"I have an idea. Why don't you shift into that wolf of yours? I'm dying to see that white fur covered in your blood!" He continued. "Oh, I know. How about we kill of some of your pack members. I hear they're having a celebration at the house? How about we crash the party?" He taunted. "You three. Head over to the pack house and cause some havoc." He instructed and I heard as three sets of footsteps retreated back into the direction of the house.
"Rory, we have no choice. We're gonna have to take them down. We can't let them get to the pack house." Rhea said and I had to agree. We couldn't keep running like this.
I tried to remember my training and took a deep breath as I steadied myself, compelling my sense of eating and smell to pinpoint each one of my foes.
I crouched down and allowed Rhea to semi takeover of my body, and I felt my nails grow into claws and my fangs descended. I leapt from behind the three and dashed at a lightning speed and managed to disembowel two hunters and cut another ones throat.
I caught sight of two of the hunters running towards the pack house so I dashed behind them and stabbed one in the back and used him as a shield while the other shot bullets at me. When he was out, I dashed after him and tore his throat with my fangs.
I ran through the forest searching for that bastard of Wendell when I was tackled to the ground. Tallulah had me beneath her as she threw her clawed hands at me.
I managed to dodge one and caught the other, and hoisted my feet beneath her to push her away from me. She rolled a couple of meters before gripping the ground with her claws, steadied herself and dashed right after me.
Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a huge black wolf shot out of nowhere and practically bit off half of his upper body.
"Wolfgang." Tallulah breathe out in relief.
"Our mate, Rory! He's here to save us." Rhea cheered as we watch Cronnos stalk Wendell, who looked unfazed.
"Look who we've got here. The big bad alpha. Took you long enough." He said before dashing back and shouting. "Now!!"
A dozen or more hunters came bursting from above the trees with guns and crossbows shooting after Wolfgang, but he was quick to dodge them as he scampered over to where Tallulah and I were.
"Get on!!" I heard his voice command me in my head and I quickly climbed on to his broad wolf back and grabbed on as tightly as I could to his fur.
"Wolfgang! What about me?! Aren't you gonna help me too?" Tallulah whimpered bellow us.
