He stood straight and strode toward me and Viv. "For you, miss," he said in his gravelly voice.

I stared at the paper on the salver, like it was a dead rodent. "What does it contain, anyway?"

"That, I cannot know, miss. It's private, it seems."

"Open it!" Viv encouraged, smiling at Headford like he was a savior. He blushed. "Come on, Kells, it must be totally important."

"Fine," I muttered. Grumpily, I snatched the paper and as I was about to open it, I noticed Viv and Headford hovering beside me. I glared at them. "Do you mind?" I bit off.

Viv sighed. "Oh, right."

Headford apologized, gave a little bow, and left the room quietly as if he never came in. Standing up, Viv gave me a hug and went after him. I was all alone. I sighed and opened the letter.

Meet me by the Fenny. You know how to get there, don't you? Wouldn't want everything I've taught you go to waste, now, do you?

Love,

"A man who wants to make a relationship work will move mountains to keep the woman he loves." Personally, a bloke can't "move mountains."But doing all that you can for the girl you love is one thing that's right. And I'll do just that.

She was going to kill me. I knew she would.

"MICHAEL?"

There she was. She wasn't in full sight yet, but I knew she was walking determinedly toward where I was right now. She could scare a bloody beast with that temper of hers, but I only smiled. Let her come to me.

"Miiiiichaaaael!!!!!!"

"I'm over here!" I called out, laughter in my voice.

I could see her now, struggling over high roots from the forest trees.

Keller was silent for a moment, then her mouth tightened at the corners. "It's Edward. And no, he's not the one we talked about back in the maze of the Rigby's; it's Jacob Black."

"Right." I really didn't know much about Twilight, but I smiled that she still remembered the time she got furious with me and we made up in the maze of Lord and Lady Rigby at their garden soiree.

"Well..." I looked behind me, forgetting for a moment that I had an injury, because I really wanted to know what she thought about what I did for her. "What do you think of --"

In an instant, what I was going to ask her was forgotten, because she was suddenly striding toward me. When she was close, her eyes were sharp, staring hard into my gray ones (she always wants to think my eyes are silver, but I don't really mind because at least she loves them).

"There's something wrong with you," she said calmly. Too calmly. Maybe she noticed the way my right arm was stiff and slightly bent as if it was already in a cast and sling.

"What do you mean?" The last thing I wanted was to tell her how stupid I was for falling off a large oak tree and broke my arm. No way. Pride has it boundaries, and this was one of them.

She poked me hard on the chest. "Are you messing with my head with this sweet scenery of yours? Because I haven't heard from you in a week, Michael, and now you're here! I thought you don't want to come to the wedding anymore!"

Oh. Well. Thanks for the concern, is what I'd say, but I kept my mouth shut.

"At first I thought you were gonna come back, but after days of not hearing from you, I began to think you don't want to be with me anymore and you're bailing out on me. I got all worried and then I became angry with you because you...you..."
