"Do you mind a kiss? Can I kiss you?" he asked and I was taken aback.

Such generosity?

"Yeah" I replied and he placed the lightest kiss on my lips. It was different. It was not the one needful kiss. It was a friendly and light kiss. It was not passionate, but it was sweeter. It was not intense, but it was more lovable.

I looked at him, trying to figure out one thing.

If he doesn't love me, why does he smile whenever he kisses me?

Robert's POV

Whenever everything is perfect, there is always someone or something that ruins it. I can't afford to ruin this new happiness-- this new feeling.

It has been a really long time since Nicholson made any moves. I don't wanna think about anything, I want to keep an open mind. I hope he is not planning something big.

If he thinks that by this, I'll believe that he is out of the country, he is damn wrong. I will never assume anything-- at least that is a lesson I have learned in my life.

Anyway, I went to MO for some of my work. Max was already there.

"Robert" he followed me inside the building. "We don't think Nicholson is in the country anymore. He has never been so quiet for this long up till now. Maybe, he is out somewhere, enjoying his life with his girlfriend, Summer"

"No. We don't assume anything"  I instructed and went inside. My men were lined and I looked at Max to ask the purpose.

"Well, apparently, Ervin Hunter wants to visit you for your project. So, we want to add security"

"He is no risk," I turned towards Max. "No security"

"But boss" he insisted. "We don't know him. He could even be a part of Nicholson's team"

"Whatever. But don't make it too obvious"

He nodded and I left the place and went to my home. Hailey was making breakfast, she said she'd like to do some work as she will not go to the office for some days. Because it is going to be a mess if anyone sees her wounds.

I sat down at the dining table.

"You hungry?"  I heard a voice and I turned around.

"Yeah"

"Good. I just made breakfast!" She kept the plates on the table and sat down beside me. "Need me to feed you?" she questioned.

"No" I smiled. "Should I?"

She looked shocked by my question but quickly recovered. "Will you?"

"Hm-mh"

I smiled and bit-by-bit, I fed her the entire meal. She was smiling and she looked really cute.

"I am leaving for the office" I stood up. "Bye"

"Bye. Come soon"

Hailey's POV

After he fed me breakfast and by that, I mean, really fed me, I was beyond happy to go and spend my day talking to Alex, or making food, or doing any stuff.

I video-called him.

"Hey," I said, smiling as he picked up the call.

"Hey-- wait. What happened to your lips?"  he asked with concern.

"Uh... n-nothing! Actually, he kissed me, so--"

"Bye" I cut the call and, taking my stuff, that is my phone and my wallet, I went to the nearest shopping mall.

I am at the shopping mall, and damn, it is a big one. I walked across the first 10 shops, just because they were overcrowded. People really waste their money, don't they?

"Hey"

I looked up and I saw the one who I wasn't expecting, and wasn't wanting to come across here.

"Hello... Ervin"

"Why are you so sad seeing me?" he faked hurt by keeping a hand on his heart. "That hurts"

I laughed. "You may be a good businessman but you are a terrible actor!"

He smiled at me and looked around. "Robert?"

"Um... no. I am alone" I said and he nodded.

"Mind roaming around a bit?"

"Uh... Y-Yes, actually. I was just going home..." I reasoned.

"Oh, that is too bad. Hope you get time next time!" he extended his hand to meet mine. "Friends?"

Friends?

Robert told me to stay away from you, dude.

"Ah... Yes!" I answered and his face lit up with the brightest smile.

"That's great. Um... can I have your number?"
