Gosh, really?
Why are you putting me in this situation?
I can't just go around and deny him. That'd be too rude.
But if I do, then Robert can be mad.
"Ah... sorry, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable--" he started saying, but damn my good-brain cells.
"Wha- no! It is completely fine! Here is my number"
And with that, I gave him my number. He happily took it and gave me a missed call so that I can also call him whenever I want.
Like I would.
"Bye!" he said while going.
"Bye"
He left for some shop but what now?
What if Robert comes to know that I met him?
Shit, I also made him my friend, let alone meet him.
Anyway, I went home straight and sat down. I switched on the television and passed my time.
It was night time and finally, Robert came home. I gave him water and he smiled.
"Thanks" he drank it and gave me the glass. "But. What did you and Ervin talk about?"
Going shopping was the worst idea.
Robert's POV
I was in the office when Ron told me that Ervin met up with Hailey in the shopping mall. Strangely, Ron knew it before Max.
Anyway, I went to my home at the correct time and also came to know that Hailey returned home soon after she met with him. Now, she knows that I will know if she did that on purpose. And that is not what she did, certainly.
I reached my house.
"Thanks" I replied when she handed me water.
She was happy and I knew, she didn't want me to know about anything. But the truth is, I don't want her to do something stupid just because she thinks that I don't know.
"But" I interrupted her smile. "What did you and Ervin talk about?"
The tension lines on her forehead make me worried. If she didn't do anything wrong, why is she afraid?
What is she scared of?
"Hailey..." I started speaking but she hugged me.
She was scared and I didn't know why. But the main thing was that she wasn't hiding and she was opening up.
"I-I am sorry! I didn't know he would ask for my number. I am sorry. I didn't know he would be there. I--"
I cut her off. Why is she apologizing when it isn't her fault?
"It is okay" I replied, keeping her hand in mine. "Did I say anything? I just asked"
"I-I thought you were angry..." she looked in my eyes. "Because I had to... give my number to him"
"I will not be angry now that you are telling me everything honestly" I surprisingly said. I was never like this.
"Really?" her eyes lit up.
"Yes," I confirmed.
She smiled and hugged me again. "Thanks. Thanks, Robert!"
I smiled and caressed her hair. "It is okay, Hailey"
I don't know when I became like this.
M...
M?
Mafia?
Mafia Office?
Yeah, definitely.
I got up. It is okay, I can't make him leave his Mafia business. I will try... but I don't have that place in his life to make him lose this place.
I went to the shower and came out. I wore my top and a loose lower. I was not in the mood to wear jeans, I wanted to relax while wearing comfy clothes.
I heard the door knock, and looking at my clothes one last time, I opened it. It was Max.
"Max?" I questioned.
"Hm... yeah" he responded.
Something seemed off about the way he responded to me.
"Uh... Anything wrong?"
"Nope" he closed the door and I took a step back.
"W-What happened?" I asked, trying to keep a fake smile on my face.
"Much will happen, Hailey," he said huskily and I took two steps back.
What is he doing?
Why is he calling me Hailey instead of Mrs. Hailey?
"M-Max"
He smirked and then pushed me towards the wall. He trapped me in between it and him. I was facing him.
