"Okay."
"O... Okay?" I repeated slowly, in confusion.
Dominic chuckled lowly, cupping my jaw with one hand and slowly tracing my bottom lip with his thumb. "I don't plan on making you my prisoner. If you try to escape or run away from me, that may change. I can wait a few years for you to grow up and be an adult. In your world, for us to have sex now would be considered rape. Not that I would ever get in trouble for it, but still. I will satisfy your requests, as long as they fit into my rules. So far, nothing you have ranted about is beyond what rules I will lay out to you."
I pouted. So everything I just babbled about wasn't helping my case.
"No, sugar. They really don't."
"How old are you?" I asked softly. "Obviously much older than me, but-"
"Twenty-four."
I frowned. "So you were twenty-one last time you visited? You, a twenty-one year old, picked on a fourteen-year-old?"
"You hadn't had your birthday quite yet, so you were technically still thirteen at that point, but yes. And it was fun."
The door to the bedroom opened and I immediately tried to push him off of me, but he ignored me and looked over his shoulder.
"Ah, Mr. Carson. Thank you for bringing her bags up," Dominic said kindly, and his butler nodded politely, not at all surprised by the compromising position we were in. "Would you have dinner with us tonight? That way you can formally meet your queen?"
I blocked out the rest of the conversation, as a sick realization hit me. The King of the Shifters wanted to make me his mate - his queen.
He was intent on making me the queen. The queen.
My hands, which were resting on Dominic's biceps, started to shake, and I felt his gaze return to me. His thumb moved to stroke my cheek, and the hand that was pinning my shoulder to the wall dropped to my hip, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"What's wrong, sugar?" He hummed.
"Y-you... You're... I..."
A slow smile spread on his face, and his mouth descended on mine. After kissing me forcefully for several moments, he pulled back and smirked. "My queen."
I leaned over the counter in the kitchen, looking through a magazine Dominic had found lying around as he wrote down a list of groceries for his butler to get for dinner tonight.
"So what other magic do you have besides making me pass out?" I asked curiously, holding a page in my hand as I looked at him.
I yelped as a sudden heat burst beside my hand, the magazine page I was holding had caught fire. He grinned as I frantically blew it out, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Perfect?!" I repeated incredulously.
Dominic laughed, grinning down at my pouted bottom lip. "You can come up with all of the excuses in the world as to why we shouldn't be together, and it will only make me crave for you more. Your mistake was bringing up virginity first. Not only did I already know that, but it was one of the reasons I originally wanted you. I want to have you first."
"Maybe I don't swing your way," I mumbled, folding my arms across my chest.
He rolled his eyes as his hands grasped my upper thighs, just under my bum, and lifted me up to sit on the counter. "You said at dinner last night that you do swing my way."
Dammit.
"Just help me out and give me something that is your biggest pet peeve," I said, frowning.
"I hate when girls spit instead of swallow."
I quirked my head, frowning. "What the hell does that mean?"
"Don't worry about it, baby," he murmured, tilting my chin back and brushing his lips against mine in a subtle kiss. "Let's give Mr. Carson this list."
