His Hybrid Mate novel Chapter 5

ROYAL POV

Today I was with my mother as we went around the pack house. We were trying to figure out how much bigger we should make it or if we should build one right next to it and just have a connecting walkway. I wasn't really doing anything except writing down way she wanted to be written down since she was the brains and designer of this operation, even though I showed her my blue prints, but I'm passed it.

"Have you gone to your father's office this week, or last week, at all?" she asks as I shake my head at her.

"Um, I've been kind of busy." she turns around to study my face.

"Doing what?"

"I fou-"

"There you guys are. Alpha is looking for you two." the beta Kris, Nicki's father bowed to us.

"We're on our way." my mom skips in front of us as I smile. I swear she always acts like a little girl when it came to my father, but also I am so glad that Kris peeled her away because she would shit her pants if I didn't tell her I found my mate yet.

"I see you met my daughter." Kris said raising an eyebrow at me and I nod respectfully at him.

"Yeah, Nicki." I said smiling. I liked the way her name rolled off my tongue. Just thinking about what she was doing right now made me want to walk away from this conversation.

"So what's going on between you two?" he asks stopping me from walking on.

"Well, she my mate." I tell him as a huge smile graces his face.

"Really? That's great, I'm glad it's you, someone I know and trust." He bows before smiling widely. It was a funny sight and I am already grateful for his blessing. "Just take care of her. She's new to all this. Her mother kept her away from her true nature and the outside to keep her hidden, be gentle with her."

"Yeah, I understand. I won't make her do anything she doesn't want to do." I say to him meaning every word. Nicki already meant everything to me and I will do anything to make her happy. He nods patting my shoulder. I go into the pack house where my father was. I didn't want to go but if I didn't then I would hear his mouth and I didn't want to hear it. I walk up the stairs and into his little office.

"Hello father." I sit on the couch in front of his desk next to my mother.

"Where have been?" he asks calmly. I hide my smirk because I could tell that he was mad.

"Out." I say as my mom elbows me.

"Well, I got some things to discuss with you since you was 'out' " he said. I groan. This is hell.

NICKI POV

My dad was getting me enrolled into school. I certainly wasn't up for it, but I didn't like to be one all the time so it was whatever. There was a whole process of what you've been doing in other grades and they asked a bunch of questions. I really wasn't up for sitting in class with other people.

"Are you excited for school?" Candice asks me once we got back in the car.

"Not really. This will kind of be my first time in a crowd large crowd or in school at all." I tell them.

"It'll be fun. You'll make friends and everything." My dad says as we drive back to the house. It wasn't a long drive, but long enough to know I'm going to need someone to drive me there.

"Dad, can I go run?" I ask him.

"No. You can't. They'll think you're rouge." he tells me as I sigh.

"But I haven't let Roman out in weeks." I tell him with pleading eyes.

"Fine." he sighs in defeat as I smile. "But once you see other wolves come straight home because you have to be accepted into the pack before you can run free."

"Oh sweetie. Calm down boys. You're scaring the poor girl." His mother says putting her hand on my shoulder pulling me closer to her.

"Apparently she's a rouge!" his dad Shouts glaring at Royal as he ignores his father and walks over to me cuffing my cheeks in his hand.

"You okay? Did they do anything to you?" he asks softly.

"I'm fine." I mutter as he nods kissing my forehead.

"Awww is she your mate?" his mom asks and He smiles nodding.

"Who's your father?" the Alpha asks his glaring eyes meeting mine.

"Kris." I look up as his eyes widen.

"You're Maggie's child?" he ask and I nod quickly.

"Come on. Let me get you some better clothing." his mother takes my hand gently as we leave the room and up another flight of stairs.

I felt so out of place. I had on a thin shirt and nothing underneath. The breeze was blowing up the shirt and it felt weird standing around people basically naked. We make it upstairs and into a boys room.

"This is Royal's room when he wants to stay over." she says as I nod. She passes me a hoodie and some sweatpants. I slip off the button up and put on the clothing she passed to me. "I'm glad he found his mate."

"Yeah, I'm glad I found him too." I tell her as she smiles wide.

"Make sure he takes care of you or I'll have to whoop his ass."
