A month had passed since the night Chris had stood before the entire family and asked her to become his wife, but even that morning, Naomi often still felt as though everything that had happened was merely a dream.

She woke with a heavy head and a slight headache. Her body was still urging her to go back to sleep, but the moment she saw the stack of documents on the bedside table, Naomi knew she could not laze around any longer.

For the past week, nearly all of her time had been consumed by wedding preparations. There were schedules to check, several choices to make, a guest list that needed to be confirmed, and even the little things she had never thought about before. Some people were helping her, but even so, Naomi felt as though all the responsibility rested on her shoulders.

Chris was still in Geneva. His work could not simply be abandoned. He had apologized to her several times for not being able to stay by her side throughout the preparations. At first, Naomi had been a little annoyed. But after thinking about it, she realized that Chris was indeed just as busy as Cale.

They both had responsibilities that could not be abandoned simply for personal matters.

Naomi sat on the edge of the bed and massaged her temples for a moment. "I'm really getting married."

The words slipped out just like that. She even let out a small laugh after hearing herself say them. A month ago, she had still been busy recovering from all the terrible things that had happened in her life. Now, she was sitting in her room thinking about flower colors, the venue, her dress, and all the preparations for her wedding day.

The change felt too fast, but strangely enough, Naomi did not want to stop it. Her gaze then fell on a bouquet of flowers placed on the table near the window. Some of the flowers had begun to wilt, but Naomi was still keeping them carefully.

The flowers Chris had brought that night. The flowers that had been part of the proposal she still found difficult to believe had actually happened.

Naomi rose and walked over to them. Her fingers carefully touched one of the flower stems as a small smile appeared on her face.
