Naomi looked at Eli in confusion.

The girl ate heartily, as though taking out her frustration on the food.

“If you eat like that, you could choke,” Naomi warned.

“I’m hungry,” Eli said shortly.

“Are there really so many assignments as a college student that you forget to eat?” Grace asked as she stirred her smoothie.

“That’s how it is,” Eli replied lightly. She continued eating. This time, she quickly devoured two double-patty hamburgers.

Ever since the girl had come over to Naomi and Grace, who were waiting in the dormitory lobby, something had been different.

It was obvious that Eli was holding back her emotions, but whatever had happened, Naomi was not willing to pressure her with questions yet. At least, perhaps once Eli had calmed down, she would talk about it on her own.

Grace, who had only been listening all this time, finally put down her spoon. She did not ask anything either, but her gaze became more serious. She knew Naomi was giving Eli a chance to speak without making her feel pressured.
