"Wakey wakey Claire-bear!"

I grunted keeping my eyes closed.

"Claire if you don't get your ass up I will pick you up myself and drag you by your hair to get food. I'm hungry and decided to be nice and let you sleep in till eleven now get your ass up."

"I hate you," I grumbled throwing my pillow at him. He purposely opened the curtains letting the small amount of sunlight shine in the small dorm room. I got up stretching and threw my wig on the bed and let my blonde hair flow down my back. Nathan blew me a kiss and I scowled pretending to grab it then stomp on it.

"This is why I'm your only friend."

"You are not." I rolled my eyes opening the suitcase that was under my bed. I grabbed a pair of black leggings and a nice shirt before going into the bathroom to get ready. After taking a quick shower and blow drying my hair I returned to the room to see Nathan sitting on Caiden's bed. Shaking my head I muttered, "Dumb ass." I slipped on my black boots and my cute coat along with my blue scarf and black gloves before turning to look at my friend.

"I'm ready," I said doing a small turn.

"Well I see someone's looking all cute for their birthday," he said throwing me my phone and key which I put in my bra. Nathan peeked his head out in the hall and nodded his head that it was clear.

"Where to?"

"I think I'm in the mood for some Denny's," I told him as we pressed the lobby button. I sighed when the elevator paused at the floor right before the lobby.

"Well look who it is," Jax said smirking.

"Who are you?" Nate asked.

"He's a conceited dick."

"Now why let such foul language come out of that pretty little mouth of yours?" The elevator doors opened and I didn't hesitate to walk out knowing Nathan was right behind me.

"I see she isn't going to introduce me properly. I'm Jax you may know me actually. I'm one of Caiden's good friends," the douche said catching up to us.

"That explains it all," Nate said rolling his eyes.

"Jax?" another familiar voice said and I threw my hands up in the hair pausing.

"C'mon," I yelled. "Why is everyone bothering me! This is the one day I just wanted a break."

"Someone is in a bitchy mood again," Jax said before turning to look at Nate.

"Is she always like this or is it just that time of the month?" he asked and I clenched my fists.

"Well this isn't amusing. I'm bored," Caiden said and I narrowed my eyes at his blank face. He started to head toward the elevator and Jax chuckled.

"I see you haven't changed at all Caiden." He paused looking over his shoulder and stares for a second his hazel eyes were void of emotion like always. "Shut the fuck up," he said coldly.

"Okay let's go," I said grabbing Nathan's arm and pulling him out the door. About halfway to the car Nathan stopped making me stop with him. Grabbing my hands he leaned his forehead against mine looking me straight in the eyes." As your best friend I have vowed to myself to make this day absolutely fantastic," he told me and I smiled pulling him into a long hug.

"Thank Nay-Nay," I mumbled closing my eyes and enjoying the embrace." I really did need this."

"I know." We both pulled back and headed to his car.

"Denny's here we come," I smiled getting in and right away drowning out the car with music.

"Oh my god." I bent over holding my stomach from laughing so hard. "I can't believe you remember that," Nathan smirked. "How could I forget? I mean only you would fall asleep while pranking the principal." I should probably explain, my sophomore year I decided to help the seniors during senior prank day since everyone knew how great I am at pulling pranks. But since it was a late notice and I was really tired I kind of fell asleep while filling the school with cows and chickens. Let's just say some got loose onto the streets and one thing lead to another and in the end I ended up in a holding cell and the next with a suspension. I won't lie and say that wasn't the best part of sophomore year though. That was one of the ways I became known around the school. That prank made my name spread around like wild fire.

It was nice having a peaceful brunch with my best friend. I thought as I took my last bite of pancakes. I may have been a straight A student but that doesn't mean I was exactly perfect. I was the one that always did the pranks in the school. I have always been the adamant yet confident one. Nathan and I slid our coats and scarves back on and made our way out since we already paid.

On our way back to campus an idea popped in my head. "I want to take a visit to my lovely father at work." Nathan's eyebrows furrowed but he nodded deciding not to question it. It didn't long for us to reach the campus again and with my head held high I made my way into the lecture hall. I knocked on his class room door and he paused whatever he was saying making his way to the door. I watched as his eyes widened in surprise.

Gotta wake up and take out journey. Serious.

No, focus, no legally blonde.

"Waiting for me love?" Jax said interrupting my thoughts and my eyes narrowed at him. Nick clenched his fists while Caiden just stared blankly at me.

"I have better things to do then listen to your lame ass apologies," Caiden stated before starting to walk away.

"Must you always have a stick up your ass," I hissed and he didn't respond as he kept walking.

"Oh Caiden you haven't told your best friend's girl about what happened to you?" Jax yelled and Caiden froze and turned around glaring at him.

"I will bury you alive if you even think about mentioning my business to this slut," he said menacingly. I wouldn't deny the fact that I was curious but I decided to not to question it.

"I'd like to see you try," Jax said with an arrogant smirk. I think I temporarily forgot how scary Caiden could be. It became deadly silent and a sinister look still was placed on his face as he made his way toward where we were standing.

"Hey douchebag and asshole why don't you go handle your shit somewhere else. I don't need to talk to you so you can go fight your problems elsewhere," I snapped before grabbing Nick's hand not even looking at the rest of their group. I pulled him into an empty lecture room and shut the door. Taking a deep breath I hesitated before facing Nick.

"I'm sorry, Claire," Nick murmured wrapping his arms around my waist. I turned around in his arms so I was facing him.

"I know."

"I shouldn't have walked off with Jax or acted like a total dick, but you have to understand he basically controls us. The only one who he doesn't control is Caiden. I can't be this lovesick puppy when he's around," he murmured and the look in my eyes hardened.

"I never said you had to be some lovesick puppy," I said pushing myself out of his arms. I walked over leaning on the desk in the front of the room. I looked off at all of the empty desks with a hushed voice I continued, "Why does Jax control you?"

"I know you didn't. I just get mushy and I try my hardest to treat you like a princess." Nick hesitated before continuing. "Jax has enough power to shut down all of our company's. No one knows exactly what his parents do but we all know he has power." By this point he was next to me.
