He had a point.
"No, but I thought you may have a roommate or something."
"You should know by now I definitely don't do the whole roommates thing." A knock on the door sounded through the apartment and Caiden didn't seem curious only irritated.
"What Macy?" he asked opening the door while I watched the interaction with curiosity.
"Do you have any sugar? I ran a little short for my cookies." The petite girl asked brushing her long curled hair off of her left shoulder. Her face and eyes gave her an innocent look which only spiked my curiosity.
"No." He slammed the door on her face which made my jaw drop. Especially noticing the jar of sugar he had sitting on his counter.
"You're such an ass! You couldn't spare any?" I asked glaring at him.
"She bugs me every time I'm home."
"So?" I grabbed the jar and ran toward the door to see her about to enter her apartment a few doors down.
"Hey!" I called out and Caiden watched me from the doorway.
"What are you doing?" he hissed at me and I sent him a glare.
"I'm doing what you should have done," I harshly whispered and he only shook his head at me an amused smirk appearing on his face.
"Yes?" Macy asked me, her eyes flashing with jealousy when she noticed I was coming out of his apartment. Her eyes studied Caiden's bare chest behind me for a moment as I talked.
"It looks like he did have some sugar," I said sending her a polite smile. The way she was looking at me was annoying me to no end, I tried not to narrow my eyes and glare at her.
"Can you just bring it back when you're done?" I asked and she gave me a tight, closed mouth smile. She no longer looked innocent.
"Actually I can just pour some into my bag now." She held up her little Ziploc bag and I nodded handing the sugar to her. She poured some in and quickly thanked me, slamming the door behind her. Turning around to face Caiden I frowned when I noticed him laughing at me. His deep, husky, laugh echoed through the hallway making me huff as I walked past him back into his apartment.
"She only likes you. That's the oldest trick in the book! I mean no one goes around asking for sugar these days!" I said, throwing my hands up, not hiding my irritation. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I took it out glancing at the text.
Jeffery: Hey sis since ur busy i'm going to hang out with Sam for the rest of the day. I'll probs c u tm. Love ya
"Well my plans are canceled," I say sitting down on the stool again.
"Hang out with me for a while then," Caiden suggested standing in front of me and leaning his hand on the counter behind me. He was so close that when he would talk his minty breath would blow on my face. I was thankful that I put a piece of gum in my mouth on the ride here. It would be embarrassing for him to smell my popcorn/cookie breath when I talk. His hair was still a little damp and a small drop of water fell off of his hair and dropped onto my jeans. He didn't seem to notice and if he did he didn't care.
"What? Don't have a hookup appointment waiting for you?" I didn't know where that came from but I promise you it wasn't asked out of jealousy. I didn't like Caiden like that, he's a player and I've already dealt with his best friend.
"Why jealous much?" he retorted, his eyes challenging.
"Of course not," I responded, rolling my blue eyes before deciding to change the subject. "Well what do you do around here by yourself usually?" He stayed silent almost as if he was unsure. Pushing himself off the counter he headed in the kitchen and grabbed a water from the fridge.
"Well if I'm hanging out here for a while you could at least put a shirt on," I told him awkwardly after a few minutes of him not answering and watching him as he gulped half the water bottle down in one single gulp.
"If it seriously bothers you that much then I guess I can. If it's because of my eight pack then you can touch them if you'd like."
"Whatever," I muttered grumpily and focused on the TV.
My eyes slowly fluttered open as I felt my body moving. "What's going on? Where am I?" I asked, my voice a little groggy. I was one of those people that when I first wake up from a nice sleep I don't even know what day it is.
"You're still at my apartment. You fell asleep at the end of whatever stupid ass movie you put on," Caiden told me as we headed down a set a stairs.
"Where are you bringing me?" I asked, snuggling closer to his chest and shutting my eyes. I was cold and I like to cuddle. Please kill me if it's a crime.
"To my bed, my couches aren't made to be slept on," he said and I almost scoffed. Those couches are like pillows. My body was laid down on a bed and I almost moaned from how comfortable his bed was. Was it made out of clouds? I let out a long yawn and cuddle underneath the comforter.
"I have to text my mom," I said, the tiredness evident in my voice.
"I already did," his warm body lay next to me but kept his distance.
"What never sleep next to a girl before?" I asked peeling my eyes open for a moment to glance at him. My jean jacket was uncomfortable just like my scarf so I sat up for a second in the dark and threw them off onto the floor. I'd worry about grabbing it tomorrow, just like I'd worry about that fact that I'm in the same bed as Caiden and that he touched my phone.
"Actually no I haven't just slept with a girl in my bed like this," he admitted awkwardly and I scooted closer to him so that our bodies were almost touching. He didn't seem to believe in heat.
"I figured as much." The end of my sentence was probably hard to understand from another yawn releasing from my mouth. I wondered what time it was.
"You're still an ass," I muttered as he wrapped his arm on my waist pulling me so I was flushed against his bare chest.
"And you are still a slut, baby doll." I felt his hot breath on my ear as he muttered the words. He tucked my head underneath his chin and I couldn't help but think, how did we even end up like this?
