"Hey Claire," he greeted.

"Are you home?" I asked him rocking on the heels of my feet and hugging my jacket closer to me. It was freezing out here.

"Yeah. Why?" he asked me, the curiosity leaking from his voice.

"Do you think you could give me a ride home? I was at my friends', but they had to go so now I'm kind of just stranded," I said awkwardly.

"Of course. I was going to run to the store anyways. I'll be down in a minute. Just text me the address."

"Thanks West." We ended the call and I stepped inside the building again, waiting for him after I texted him the address. I wasn't going to get frostbite standing out here. I waited a few more minutes before I heard the elevator open and West's handsome figure walked out.

"Hey beautiful. It's been a while. What have you be up to?" he asked me, wrapping his arms around me. I wrapped my arms around him too and enjoyed the comfort. It'd been far too long since I've just hugged someone. Caiden didn't count since he was him. He didn't want to be near me unless it was for some sexual reason.

You know that's not true. You spent half of your break just at his house.

Yes, but that's only because he didn't want to be alone.

"I've just been hanging out with friends and spending time with my family. Nothing big," I responded shrugging as we pulled back from our embrace. We left the building and he led me to his car.

"That sounds enjoyable," he said sending me a smile and I nodded.

"Yeah I'm just not ready to return back to school," I said and he nodded, starting the car and blasting the heat.

"Hey you should come with me next Saturday to my cousin's fashion show. My mom's making me go for support so I thought I'd bring a girl who actually would enjoy it," West suggested and I bit my lip thinking about it. I remember he said once before that his cousin was the famous Clover Thompson and I mean that fashion class I'm taking at the girls' university is growing on me.

"Sure, I'll go," I answered and he smiled in return. I could be girly sometimes. "I don't have to dress up right?"

"Just wear whatever," he told me and I nodded. The car filled with comfortable silence and me being me I just had to ruin it by turning up the music.

I clapped my hands together. "It's time to bring this car ride to life!" I said, before gasping when I heard what song was playing.

"Make a dragon wanna retire man. I'm too hot damn. Say my name you know who I am I'm too hot damn." West laughed at my obnoxious singing and my dancing.

"You never fail to surprise me yogurt girl," he said and I smiled, flipping my blonde hair over my left shoulder.

"Hey you know what I just realized."

"What?"

"Your house it near where I work."

"Oh yeah I know you work at Mr. Hero right?" I asked turning down the music a little.

"Uh yeah how do you know that?" My whole body froze and I remained silent for a minute.

Shit I was Jason when I saw him there.

"Yeah uh my friend knows who you are because of your cousin and he just said you worked there." I put a fake smile on my face hoping he would believe my lie.

"Oh right." He nodded and the car filled with almost awkward silence. After that we only shared a few more words till he dropped me off at home.

"I won't apologize to you," he added. I sighed I didn't expect an apology but I still haven't changed my mind. I don't want to be involved with him.

Yeah, you say that now.

I snorted. "So you were jealous and thought it would be a good idea to just push me away."

"I push everyone away, get over it. You can't save everyone from their demons Claire."

"I don't care what you say I will help you face your past. You can't go around pushing everyone out your life who tries to get close to you," Caiden's eyes darkened even more if possible and his large hands grabbed my face and his lips were suddenly pressed against mine and I was left in a state of shock.

Caiden Anderson was kissing me. This wasn't right. I should have pulled away. I should have kicked him out of my room. But the funny thing was I didn't. Nope, instead I wrapped my own hands around the back of his neck and I only let him pull me closer. I let myself relax and enjoy the kiss. I let myself kiss him back with the same amount of desire and passion.

I thought it was over when one of Caiden's hands let go of my face but I was wrong instead his left hand grabbed onto my waist and brought me even closer so there was no room in between us. He moved his lips away for a quick second to let us both take in air before they were back on mine.

I didn't even realize we were moving until I felt my back hit the wall. Our lips moved together almost passionately and his grip on my waist tightened.

"He's not my boyfriend," I heard Jeffery say from the doorway in a high-pitched voice. I tried to push Caiden away almost immediately, but I failed and only stood there; my hands slipped from the back of his neck to his chest. We both stood there with our chests moving up and down as we tried to let air fill our lungs again.

"Get out," I said after a few seconds not even looking toward my younger brother and keeping my eyes on Caiden's. I didn't get a response and took that as a signal that he left.

"I don't want to lose you from my life baby doll," Caiden said to me, his right hand was still placed on my face. I felt his thumb almost stroke my cheek as he moved it back and forth slowly.

"You can try to help me but like I said earlier my demons won't just go away." His hands dropped and he took a step back, his hands turning into fists. "You don't need me in your life. Your life was fucking perfect, you had the perfect boyfriend and the perfect friends everything was perfect until you decided to talk to me." His eyes flashed with anger when he mentioned Nick. I stayed silent. I didn't think I'd ever heard Caiden say so many words to me.

"I will make sure when the time comes and you fight your demons you will win," I started slowly. I didn't know exactly what to say to all of that. "And Caiden I stopped having a perfect life the day I pulled into that university."
