"Shh, baby. Shh," he tried to soothe me. "You're okay. I'm here. You're safe. Nothing's going to hurt you anymore. Don't worry."

We stayed like that for awhile. Eventually, he picked me up and carried my outside where the others were waiting for him, well for us. I clung to him like he was my anchor to this Earth. Not wanting the others to see me, I buried my face in his neck.

"Is she okay?" a voice asked. I recognized that voice. It belonged to the werewolf that first approached me when they first showed up in school.

Jace nodded. "She will be," he said. "You guys should go back home. I'll take her back in the truck." I heard them leave through the woods.

Then, Jace opened the passenger's side of the truck. He tried to put me in, but I still kept my grip on him. He chuckled. "Come on, Dani. I just need to get some pants on."

Quickly, I let go. He needed to get some pants on. Jace laughed as he shut the door and opened the back door. I tried to stop crying, but I just couldn't. God, what was wrong with me?

When Jace came in the driver's side. He had on a pair of sweat pants. They were hanging lowly on his hips. Jeez, that was so hot. I quickly adverted my eyes to the wrong place, his stomach. It was even more sexy. He was toned. My eyes found it's way to his face. He was looking at me.

Thankfully, he opened his arms for me. I didn't want to ask him, but he must've sensed that I need to have him hold me. Carefully, without hurting my leg or wrist further, I crawled into his lap. I pressed my face into his chest and inhaled his scent. It was captivating.

One of his arms snaked its way around my waist and he gently pressed his lips to my hair. Then he started the car and we drove away from that God forsaken warehouse.

The ride was silent the whole way, which suited me just fine. I didn't feel like talking. All I did was focus on my breathing and his. As we came into town, he turned on a road that was unfamiliar to me, so I spoke up. "Jace?" I asked. He glanced at me.

"Hm?" he asked.

"Where are you taking me?"

He nodded. "I'll be right back," he said and left. I took this time to search his room. Okay, not search because that would be really creepy. I just looked around a bit. I went to the bed and ran my hand over the comforter.

I notice a picture on his nightstand table. I looked at it. There was a couple in their late thirties. Jace was in between them both. I could tell they were his parents.

His mom was beautiful. She had short, strawberry blond hair with the most stunning pale blue eyes. The man looked just like Jace, but older. He had the same dark brown hair and eyes. Together, they looked so happy. Just like a real family should.

A voice cleared in the doorway. I whipped around and but the picture down. Jace was there looking at me. "I.. uh.. I was just -"

"It's okay," he said and went over to me. Then he placed the phone in my hand. "I'll go so you can have some privacy -"
